Well i bought that 2002 ford focus with the salvage title with 94k on the clock... Here is the story... i found it on craigslist for $4200... and was going to offer the guy $2500 because of the salvage title... he tells me its listed on ebay... i do a search and find out its actually in my town... So i talk to the guy some more and he said a tree fell on it in 2003 when the car had 11k on it. he was a body shop owner and took the chance to buy the car for himself. He did all the work and went and got the title reinstated... He told me the winsheild, hood, fenders, a pillers, roof, and pass door were all fixxed or replaced. He has been driving the car since 2003 which agrees with the car fax. I took it for a drive and fell in love it handles perfect. He said for $3200 he would end the auction early... i told him yes... but i couldnt pick it up on valentinesday night when it ended so i told him to let the auction play out. I won the car for $2865 the only thing i was concerned about was how do i know the thing wasnt completly totaled and not just had a tree fall on it... I went and picked it up today the guy lived like 2 blocks from my house and owned a body shop that had been in the area for some time... i littlery drove it home with no tags on it....well i got it home and gave it a quick wash and found some pop corn kernal sized spots where the paint had started to bubble 2 on the roof and 2 on the hood... and one by the door. So i know thoes spots had to be repainted. Its nothing major though. and the hood liner was missing. so i think his story checks out... But i think i got a good deal... there is only 2 problems i found so far... back 2 speakers dont work.... and the wipers act funny when you pull it toward you to whipe once it just stops when you let it go and doesent go back down... The interior is a little dirty... im going to register it tomorrow and take pics... here is a few from the auction. The saturn i just rebuilt is going up for sale for $2200 i really like this little car....

Here is the pics from the auction Ill have more up tomorrow:

So did you get it for $2865 or did you have to pay the $3200? You were saying before that he told you that you would have to pay $3200 regardless of what the auction ended at.

Looks good!

cool little car. i wouldn't mind one to drive while im working on the stang, or just bad weather, or whatever it is.

i was thinking of getting something for next winter, either this summer if i find one cheap with problems so i can get them sorted, or right before winter.

i was thinking either a focus, a 4 banger fox. or a big f series truck. kinda 2 different spectrums hah.

seems like you got a good deal. i hate jersey for its 2 plates law.

Nice find! My 2002 focus had the same problem with the wipers, I never did get around to fixing it before I traded it on my SVTF. Have you folded the rear seat forward and put the seat back's down yet? If not you'll be surprised how much room is in these things. I really liked my 2002 ZX3 and I love my 2003 SVTF.

didnt put the rear seats down yet... but i was amazed how much room there was in the trunk alone... i really wish i had cash for a svt focus... but being 21 in school and working as a waiter only allows so much... you think its the switch for the wipers causing all the problems??? i might just deal with it for a bit... im amazed in the pick up it has personaly... I just ordered a new head unit and rear speakers... so thats one problem down... next i want a strut bar and intake.... hell a short ram would be nice....

Don't start modding the daily driver. I bought a an F150 while I had the stang... then I thought:

1 - Chrome steps bars would like nice
2 - K and N CAI would be nice
3 - Diamond Plate tool box would be nice
4 - EDGE chip would be nice
5 - New Head Unit would be nice
6 - New Speakers would be nice
7 - New Sub and Amp would be nice

2 grand later and the stang hadn't changed at all. Keep it factory, thats my two cents.
