Im thinking of slowly working on my origional block. i really was thinkin of this: How much power can it hold and is there any way of stregthining it? See, i was thinking of getting a stroker kit, something with like a lowe compression, 8:1 so i can rul alot of boost, and getting a s/c setup for it, however im worried if i lower the compression, and boost it to hell it will split the block! what would you do with a spare block? hmm i think just a good h/c/i is sorta too close to what i have now.

I wouldn't put anything more than a nice cast crank and forged pistons in it. I'd find a lighterweight forged rod, and build a 347. Spin it to 7000 RPM and make 450 RWHP. The block will live....

what your kidding me? no way a 347 stroker is making 450 hp, tell me more about this concept you have, also know that it must be streetable
I kid you not. I could do it all day long. Like I said, it's got to be some what of a rev'ver. 7000 RPM is very liveable on the street.

Pick any "big" head that you want. AFR 205, Vic Jr., TFS High Port, Z304 (ported). Custom hydraulic roller cam. Short(er) runner manifold - Vic Jr., TFS Box-upper, or Holley.

Alot of people get brainwashed by the AFR 185 for 347. That's why you don't see a 347 making what it should. It's TOO SMALL!

If I had the coin, I'd make a 500 horse, streetable, 7000 RPM, 347. If it wouldn't make 500 ponies by 7000 RPM, I'd burn it.

The key to making horsepower isn't to bolt parts together. Machine work matters, craftsmanship matters, and most importantly, surrounding yourself with the right people.
