Dude, I'm glad you're so proud of your STD and all, but could you please save your stang bashing for your STD forums?

Thanks!

lmao, and in all seriousness. If you have a 70,000 dollar STi, you could have had an 07 z06, a sick GT500, a sicker 03 cobra, an AMG Benz, a new M3, and various other cars that are 100x better than that STi. Sure it's gonna be fast, but like KT said, fast can't outrun ugly. And I like STi's, I would just never, EVER, spend that much money on one. EVER

Studies show that people that own Subarus STi's have really small dicks.

Sorry to hear your series of unfortunate events
that sucks. From my experience that is all part of owning
a Ford no offense.Hopfully it can be lined up correctly.
You should have bought a Subaru STI like I did and modded
the hell out of that if you wanted a more dependable/reliable
vehicle like I do.Boost with no belt wins everytime my friend.
Just wondering how much boost are you running with the RR pulley?

Yeah,it's Fords fault that his modified stang has issues....HUUUMMMM.
Brakes....not stock GT's,alignment....stang has been lowered, supercharged with the RR pulley.I can see where it's Fords fault .
I can guaranty you that an unmodified stang will ALMOST have ZERO issues when NOT abused, and MAINTAINED properly. The only time i ever see a stang fall apart,is do to being mistreated pretty badly,or parts are being changed out to aftermarket which mostlikely fail,or deffected,or even not installed properly.
Any car being abused,or having parts changed out to aftermarket have more of a chance to breaking down. It's all part of the game.
I've raced a WRX STI at our local track, and it impressived me,and i think they are cool in there own way,but really, for the amount of money this guy put in it,including purchasing this car, there is still no comparison, especially to what i have invested in mine in horse power mods, which is basically not a lot.But each to there own.Actually,i wouldn't mind owning one,....but for a daily driver, all wheel drive,4 doors, small to get around town, with some good hp.Makes it perfect for a family car with some descent power .

QFT! i've been lookin for a new car, but thats the main reason for why i havent sold the stang yet...it gets so much more attention and respect than any sti, evo, golf or neon ever could.... to most non-car enthusiasts, those cars are nothing more than little ugly poop sounding boxes (even if they are fast).

I feel your pain man - I've thrown two belts since installing my P1SC. Are you just eyeballing the belt routing to make sure its straight? We took one of those leveling devices (you know, the ones that shoot the little red laser beam out either side - for people to use when hanging pictures and things like that) and placed it on the outer edge of a few different pulleys - made sure that the beam was flush against the outer edge of the belt in all locations. We actually found that the mounting bracket for the supercharger (held with three bolts in my case) was slightly cockeyed...spaced out each bolt accordingly, and haven't had a problem since! Might seem like a half-a** way to test the belt travel, but it might be worth a shot

Had an RR pulley on my Novi. Shredded 5 belts in less than a month. Tossed the pulley for a stock Paxton pulley. I even put a laser level on a tripod to make sure all the pulleys were lined up.

Also, going to an 8-rib pulley setup will be a factor with alignment.

Be patient, it'll be worth it.

Or he told all of us that he bought a stage 2 kit without scrolling all the way down the page to see that it was so expensive that none of us would believe he was actually telling the truth.

I have heard alot of people have had trouble with those pullies shredding belts as well. It may be the best to just replace the pully with something else. Hopefully that takes care of the problem and you can get back to enjoying your car.

I don't know if you have an aftermarket tensioner but this is what happened to mine. You had mentioned you were having problems in the thread I had started in tech, here's what I found. Moral of story don't buy jobber tensioner, only buy Ford OEM!

Look how bent this piece of crap is, the pictures after will show why.

This shows how thick the bolt bosses are, the tensioner would ride up on the heads of the bolt forcing the tensioner arm outward or just hanging it up, the Ford OEM piece is about half as thick.

Where the piece that is supposed to keep the tensioner from moving up to far USED TO BE!

Just a close up of the broke off "bump stop"

Just another shot of how bent it is.

I got this piece from a local autoparts store, never again. Ford OEM all the way for me for external engine parts unless absolutely neccesary.

BTW i got the pulley shimmed out and got a new tensioner and it seems like it is a little better. we'll see on the way to MW sunday morning.
