I can't ****ing take it anymore. My interior rattles like no tomorrow. After a hard day of work, I like to drive home with no music and just hear the sound of power coming from my engine. But I'm distracted by the annoying sounds of my interior. I don't even have to go over a rough road for it to rattle, it just rattles. Rattles from the dash, rattle from the doors, rattles from the top. I can't take it!!!

It all started when my car was broken into. They ****ing ripped my vert to gain access and stoled my AIRBAGS. Yup, my airbags. That's all they wanted. In the process, they ripped my dash, my steering wheel, etc. Luckily I had full coverage insurance and everything was taken care of by the Ford dealer. But my car doesn't seem the way it used to. Everything just loves to rattle. I took back to the dealer & they said that every Mustang rattles. Bull*****. They're just to god damn lazy to fix my problem or their problem I should say. I know my car. And I know that it did not used to rattle like what I'm experiecing now.

P.S.

They stoled mines and my girl's airbags both together in one night. My girl & I live together and she also owns a Mustang vert. They got her too.

There are some "usual suspects" for rattles.

You typically find change, tire pressure guage(s), and other rattlesome parts inside the following:

Drink/cup holders
Console
Glovebox
Trunk

Check all theese places. They tend to have something moving around in them. You'de be amazed at what causes a rattle. I once developed such a bad rattle from the passengers side I thought something was falling apart. Turns out it was my tire pressure guage in the glovebox.

I can hear the rattles real good around the stereo bezel. I try to put pressure on it by holding while going over bumps but nope it still rattle somewhere.

...

Two simple solutions.

1) Louder Exhaust
2) "Power" button on your radio. Adjust the volume accordingly.

I would tade-in my Mustang and get another one if I were you. I would no way in hell hold on to my car if it were ever broken into and vandalized the way yours was. I would just fix the damage and sell it in a heartbeat. And I would buy another brand new Mustang GT or Cobra.

That's what I did when my wife wrecked my 2 year old 1999 Mustang GT that I bought brand new. She ran over a 1' foot high curb and scraped the whole undercarraige and exhaust system up as well put a 2" inch tear in one spot in the welded seam lip that runs across underneath of the rocker panel on one side underneath the car. Also, from her mishap, every time you would open the driver's door the door would make a large creak sound. The sound would pierce your ears. It sounded like someone was running their fingernails on a chalkboard. I didn't want to keep my Mustang GT after the damage done to it. I ended up trading it in for a brand new 2002 Mustang GT on the same week. Now I don't let her drive any of my Mustangs.

If my car was stock I could see doing that, but I would lose too much money doing that now. If my car was wrecked or broken into that would just be an excuse to add more aftermarket parts.

Oh and by the way isn't it blasphemy or something to say that you hate your mustang??

Another vote for FULL-length subframes like from MM, Global West, or Kenny Brown. They will put the smack down on a lot of rattles along with making the car feel more solid. You could also look into some sound deadening products such as brownbead and dynomat extreme to cut down on a lot of noises.

Another vote for full length subframes. I've got Maximum Motorsports full lengths on my vert, no rattles at all.

:OT:

Can you install full length subframes on a car that has a catted h/x pipe?
I remember reading somewhere that you couldn't...that would make me very sad.

Yes, subframes should in no way shape or form have any interference with the exhaust system. Here is a pic of what's on my car to give you an idea:

I have lots of rattles too, but I don't hear them 9 out of 12 months because the top is always down. But it is really annoying in the winter when the top is up.

Every Mustang I've owned is a rattle trap.. Most of my rattles orginate from the cheap interior panels.. If I apply pressure to some areas it will stop. But damn our interiors are cheap. 05's hopefully won't be..

Wow.. I just noticed the rattle from my car today... and here's the topic to talk about it. It's coming from the passenger side.. I just realigned my magnapack to make it higher off the ground and go straight back from the long tube. I left the magnapack pipe on the passenger side about half inch off of the frame. I dont' think that that's where it coming from though because I put the top down and drive around and there were no sound.. the magnapack overwhelms all with top down

My car rattles a lot too. Mainly from above the A/C controls on my 98. I rear ended someone a couple months back and my passenger side airbag cover doesn't look alinged very well. I took it back to the body shop and they couldn't do much about it because the heat I guess makes them flex and not fit right after an accident. I was getting pretty annoyed with all the little crap that seems to annoy me but it's not a Mercedes or BMW so things are not going to be the best of quality. But I think in the long run its all worth it because you just have to remind yourself that you got a baddass V8 under the hood .
