hahaha

I swear everyones uncle had a Nova or a Chevelle
. I just under-estimate my car and talk theirs up so they leave me alone, and i don't have to worry about them trying to vandalize my car when they all get rowdy after sharing one near beer.

Haha, yep. The other thing that cracks me up is the "so-and-so's supercharged 600HP 5.0". I never want to correct them, but there are very few 5.0s out there with 600HP, just because of the block strength issue... I doubt your buddy's REALLY makes 600HP, but whatever.

Had a "mechanic" go on about his "buddies" 700hp stock stroke, stock block N/A 302 fox once while I was waiting to get my 91 inspected. It was painful.

Even worse is when its your own father telling you when he had the 58 Ford convertible or the 62 T Bird convertible or the 65 Impala SS or the 69 Pontiac GrandPrix SJ or 2 door Falcon station Wagon. Then I get really pissed because he no longer has them sold them for nothing 40 years ago and should have kept one to give to his son who is so cool and nice and a good person. wtf ...LOL

A yes... the car that's ALWAYS talked about but NEVER seen.

I have one of those too. I keep it in the storage unit at my brother's freind's cousin's sister's house, carefully tucked away and hermetically sealed under my collection of original Renoi fine art collection.

Hey, my Dad totaled his '67 Nova in a high speed car chase when he was in his 20s. Beat that.

See, there have always been crazy ass kids with fast cars...

lol my grandfather swore to me he ran moonshine in virginia when he was 15 in an old ford 3 window coupe. my grandfather is also one of the biggest story tellers (liars, full of poo) when it comes to his wild adventures. i honestly think he had been watching Gangland on the history channel when they were talking about the prohibition period. lol.

You never know could be the truth. I found out a few years ago that mine made his start that way so he could get up enough $ to start a legit business. Would love to have heard the stories from him but a car accident got him when I was 5
Sounds like he would have been fun.

I always try to make the "600 hp" guys talk track times....or even suggest meeting them on Test n Tune night. Conversation ends pretty quickly after that.

You think that's bad? You should try driving a classic 'Stang. Everyone and their Grandma had one, and they all have Boss 302's.

Yeah whatever.

You think THATS bad...try drivin one with a giant front mount intercooler I love it tho, good and the bad. I either get a good laugh, or get to share some good times talkin to people who love the hobby. I cant pump gas without talkin to people. Ricers, rednecks, camaros, you name it, they all wanna know whats up with it...my girlfriend always gets a kick outta how many people stare when I drive by or pull into a parking lot and I tell her " THATS why I do it...that makes all the work and all the $$$ worth it"

What I dont care for is every pickup truck with loud exhaust I end up next to at a light thinks were runnin for pinks or somethin and has to tear-ass off the line.

my loud pick up truck won't win pinks in the 1/4 but it will out dig a car in a mud whole =/. i appreciate a rednecks hard work cause from experience making a stock F150 into a truck suitable for trail riding or mud bogging in my opinion is more difficult then getting the Fbody mustangs into a nice ride. i know more now than i did then how ever. but me personally rather im riding in my POS 4x4 or my stang i love all fast cars (within reason) and lifted trucks. love them even more with a blue oval on the front grill.

My Dad put his 66 SS Chevelle (396 4 speed) through a deer fence one night when he was drunk. He later outran the cops with his 68 GTX (the Chevelle's replacement).

I live in the south, but so far south that most rednecks are north of here... but yeah there's a lot of bubbas that like the Mustangs. Most of them have big ass hunting trucks and four-wheelers though.

I work with one of those rednecks. He's got a chevelle that he's in love with and probably has 10k under the hood. He doesn't have a clue whats under there, he took it to a shop to get everything done. He was told it'll run 10's so he was talkin' all big sayin' it'll kill my 91 (which ran a 13.5 while doing a 1/4 mile burnout on street drags and 273 gears). Finally got him to the track and all he could do was a 15.4 on slicks. I've only got two passes on my stock block vert but it still ran a 15.8 on street tires. I'm still laughing at him.

I really hate it when someone starts talking to me about my car and then goes off on a tangent about his brother-in-law's Nova, or about his car and how he put a K+N in it and it runs 12s on street tires but is otherwise stock. I worked with a guy who was a Mustang nut but he knew nothing about working on cars. He was telling me once about how he took a Dremel and bored out his stock throttle body and how he "retuned" the engine by unplugging the battery to reset the computer and then took it around the block beating the crap out of it and now it makes so much more power. I feel bad for people like that and i generally don't have the heart to tell them they're stupid.

I was at the drive up window at Taco Bell, right after I put the Spintechs on the coupe. Some guy opens the window and asks "It got a 5.0 in it?". I tell him yeah. After he hands me my food he proceeds to tell me his exhaust is "cut off on his Capri too".
I ask him what year the car is, he says "it's a 92, it's got a set of 20in dubs on it." I just drove off. Lmao.

If he is a true car guy, we would appreciate the fact that you drive a Fox. If he's just a rich prick and owns that car just for face value, he probably didn't listen to anything you said after "nice car..."
