Looks like a nice project you have on your hands. Would I do it no, but it looks sweet and good luck. I'm just not a fan of roots blowers. I'd take the upper rpm range power of a centrifigal anyday though. Nothing gears and the already stout low end these cars have can't make up for anyway.

Ryan, pretty cool your willing to spend the extra .20 a gallon for your gas. Glad to see that. Just be sure to bump the timing up to take advantage of the premium, as with a higher octane it burns slower and it might lose just a hair of power w/o the timing advanced to back it up.

already bumped it up but thanks for the fyi bud :nice:

Mr negative strikes again...

do you have some sort of *daddy didnt love me* syndrome?

Yes, I do agree its gonna be more work than he anticipates... but its NOT impossible. Its been done and it can be done again. Especially if his dad is an experience welder like he claims.

No my father was fine like i said im not always negative. Its a harsh reality we live in and im just throwing my input out there. Also i never said it couldnt be done. He thinks he is getting out cheap but dosent realize its going to cost a hell of a lot more. And really it isnt worth it for 5-6 lbs of boost IMO Id just buy a procharger they are cheap enough.

Aren't Procharger kits $3-4K? I wouldn't call them "cheap enough" - especially when you're making those comments to a 17 year old.
Like a lot of us are trying to say - give him a break. This project could cause him to flop on his face, but maybe he's just determined enough to make it all work. I wish him luck.

me too. old people judge to fast on us younger kids. hell all the people i knew where in doubt when i bought the old ranger of mine even my freinds. all but one of them (dillon). 6 months 1,300 dollars and many LONG nights. i had the 5.0L v8 in a ranger and it was painted Black. proved all them wrong. they all thought i would kill myself trying this.

now they come to me when they need help with there car.

kids can do just as much as any guy can. so to all you old timers out there...dont be so fast to judge. because will with shove it in your face when were done with it. :)

no offence to old people though

Ryan im 23 and i never said younger people were stupid. Also i dont buy the ranger thing if your dad wont let you have a 5.0 in a stang he wont let you have it in a ranger sorry but its a harsh reality. My whole argument about this thread is its not going to come together as easy as 123 and its not going to be as cheap. Ive seen prochargers new on Ebay for 1200..

Ryan your 14 and some how you managed to build all theese cars either your BSing us on some of theese or you had no childhood which is sad. Your always talking about being out driving your stang and getting gas in it but you dont have a D/L let alone your learners permit. I highly doubt your statements are all 100% truthful.

Seriously - the next time you see a new, complete Procharger kit on Ebay for $1200, PM me. I'll pick it up in a second. I'd love to get my hands on one - especially when I do my HCI and computer swap.

I just check there are none now for that price but 2 years when i was looking to get a blower on my car they were cheap as hell and i asked about them and people in the tech board said they were junk.. There a couple used vortech kits going for less then 1k right now.
