alright 1st question is...
my car is starting to burn oil. its only got 108 thousand on it. im kinda hopeing its just the heads... when did ford finally solve the problem of crappy 4.6 heads? im not sure about that. its a 96, for those of you who dont know/remember me.
second question.....
ive heard, that, when switching to p.i. heads, which i still have sitting on my bedroom floor, that you have to pull the motor... but i just seen from that one post with the question about the oil leak, that, those guys didnt pull the motor... so my question is, do you have to pull the motor?
third question is......
if i do have to pull the motor, why? i heard that there is a bolt somewhere towards the rear of the motor in the head, that you cant get to with it still in the car. if this whole bit about the bolt is true, will i be able to get to it, and loosen it with the trans out of the car? i just got my pa aode, and its going in this winter, along with a practically new charcole interior, with 03-04 cobra seats. i would like the car to perform next spring, as nice as the interior, and trans is. itd suck to have a really nice car, thats slow.
fourth question is......
can i reuse the 96-98 valve train, in the 99 heads? i havnt got anyone to answer me with that question.
and the last question is.....
with a everything stock, execpt, heads, pullies, upper plenum and throttle body, and a full exhaust, which cams should i buy? i want something, with good mid, to high range power. im running 4.10's, so tourqe isnt much of a concern, im still gonna have more then enough from this motor anyways.
any and all advice is appreaciated.
thanks

You do not need to pull the motor

Reusing the valve train is doable but it's a waste since PI's have better cams, and it depends if you choose to upgrade your cams, you might have to get different springs

You do not need to drop your motor. It is easier to yank it if you have the hoist and stand, however not neccessary. I am in the middle of my in the car swap.

You have the heads but not the valve train? Have you researched the diff between the winsor and romeo swap.

no i havnt researched it at all. i was hopeing someone here could tell me. im glad you dont have to pull the motor. i didnt think i would have to in the first place, but ALOT of people were saying i would. im hopeing everything but the cams are the same. thats what i really wanna know. i plan on useing 99-04 cams anyways.
