I hate welding with a flux core welder...you almost have to relearn how to weld lol. I did my SFC (bought them off bottlefed) I used a nice big lincoln gas mig and layed a nice thick solid bead on all 4 corners both sides...not burning or warping anything..

looks good. i would have boxed the ends though, stuff is gonna pile up inside and just sit there, and it'll rust from the inside out. just a thought.

Thanks. I thought about capping them.
I looked at several different kits online and very few cap them off. Not really sure why they do not.

If you cant find anything to cap it off with, slap a piece of bondo in their and throw some paint over it

You beat me to it.

They dont box sf connectors for minimal drag... I really dont know why they dont box them.
Since they're up there box them in with some epoxy putty or go to the hardware store and see if they have any square plastic/rubber caps.

I wonder if they do not box them, so that they do not condensate inside and rust out anyhow.

I like the plastic cap Idea. Its standard 1x1 tube so I could find a caps.

i'd be more concerned about wet mud and debris that will hold moisture for a long time not just water. i bought my sfc's and they weren't capped either. i didn't like that idea so i capped them myself and added a drain hole on the bottom on each end.

5.0 Drop-Top....Nice work. You saved big money! Quick question! Did you pull your carpet??

The shop that did mine doesn't pull interior, but I have seen pics on here or corral, and this one dude burn his carpet and his seat on a Mach 1.

I didnt pull any interior but i did check it as I was going.. It never got hot enough inside to worry about it. If you keep it cool and dont get carried away its not usually an issue. Alot of it depends on where your welding also.

On the foxbody where you weld to the front subframe theres about 2 inches of airspace between the floor board and the subrframe so low amperage and move fast usualy keeps it cool enough no to worry about fire.

I was going to try Krazy glue. I remember seeing that guy glue his hard hat to a
I-beam and hang from it. But then I saw my mig welder over in the corner looking all sad, so I put the glue away and used it.
