150 AMP Bought it on ebay for $75 from a 100% feedback guy. My electric fan is in the mail as well. Anyways, what else do I need to convert to the 3G? I know I have to grind the bracket, but what size and length bolt do I need for the upper mounting hole? Or if there is a stickie out there somewhere point me to it, cause' I could not find one. Thanks

Search JRichker's posts on the alternator upgrade. He has a couple and kind of adds or subtracts to and from them to suit the thread-starter's needs.

His wiring upgrade post works very well (I used all the components he linked to). And Monte Smith's write up, along with MC's article are both very good and complimentary (JR has links to both).

Good luck.

Just do a search on his name and you can look through his posts. His write up is great and he has some links to the Monte Smith and MC articles as well.

Other material that you will need are a new power wire from the alt to the starter relay. Use a #4 gauge wire with either the appropriate fuse or fusible links. You might want to check out www.PAperformance.com for the wiring upgrade kits. I just got my alt and upgrade from them and I was extremely pleased with both products and instructions.

i used the bolt and nut that cam with my 3g when i bought it. you should upgrade the wires that run from the alt to the battery because 150amps is a lot to run through those tiny stock wires. i have a 2g wire coming from my 150amp alt.
