This is not 100%! I hope the dealer can work with me and hope he is not lying! I found a Yellow 2003 Cobra vert for 17k Only mods are Short throw and bassani cat back. I currently have 3 years left on my loan on my 2003 GT. The dealer said my payments would almost be the same if I was to trade in the GT and have them pay off the remainder and he could put me in the terminator. I am going to do the paper work on Sunday and the test drive. Im gonna let that Eaton scream!!!! LoL. The only thing I am worried about is since it is a 2003, they might only give out a 2 or 3 year loan which will be pricey! If they can do 5 years. Termi here we come lol . Just wanted to vent because im excited. Im not gonna get my hopes up high though.

Would be a good trade up but don't hop into something that you can't afford if the numbers aren't looking good for you.

Exactly! A 5 year loan will be right up my alley. Depending on credit score and age of vehicle they might only be able to do a 2-3 year loan which will stink!! I was able to get my GT on a 5 year loan which is also a 2003 so who knows?

Don't do it, man! Stay with the car you have and pay that bitch off in 3. Not having a car payment for 2 years is much more fun than 100 extra hp. Plus, you already know your car is reliable (hopefully), and you don't know a thing about that Cobra. Also, you can do better. My buddy got an '03 Cobra a couple years ago for $13k.

Fastdriver.....I was thinking the same thing! I want to buy a house within the next few years. So no car payment would be awsome!!!! I am actually in a toss up..... Vortec or KB my GT. Keep it as a project and build the rest of the car in the future. Such as heads, cams, fuel system,brakes,t56 and block... That would be a long term project. Again NO car payment!!! I am also feeling compulsive and really really want a Terminator. Full exhaust, pulley, cai, tune and call it a day. Thats what I say now lol. I also am contemplating and been looking for good deals on C5 Zo6's. Even a nice low mileage base C5 is a really stout car. Chime in -Winters-. No car payments do sound good!

Haha winters will tell you to goto the dark side If you can swing a c5z then that would be awesome or an older c6base would be nice as well.

Prepare to get bullied on by Coyote owners though

I have a Base C5, and am very happy with it. It's paid off, and I have decided that it was the last time I'd make a payment on a car. From now on, I'll be paying cash. Let me tell you something about C5s, though.... there's a corvette tax on every part. Even if you're doing the work yourself, which is especially a pain in the ass if it has to do with the drivetrain, it's going to cost a lot more to maintain than your mustang will.

Long term project is a better idea. Frankly, the fact that you realize you're a little head over heels (impulsive) about the car is absolutely an indication that you shouldn't buy it. That, despite the way you may feel, is not a deal on that car. There will be others, and you shouldn't feel rushed to purchase the one you want. You'll also know if it's more than just an impulse if you give the decision more time. Matter of fact, pay the GT off in 3, and then enjoy the lack of a payment for a few months. I'd be amazed if you decided to get a cobra instead of not making a payment.

Fixt... Coyotes are not faster than C6 Corvettes in any performance comparison that I'm aware of.

FYI, if you are only concerned about the monthly payment amount, you're about to get screwed hard.

1) Worry about the price of the car, not the monthly payment.
2) Go through a credit union.

Just my two cents.
