i have a 79 mustang in my backyard.. its a v8 302... are these 5.0's? anywayz there is not a carb on it.. what kind do i get? please help, thanks.

a edelbrock or a holley and if you have enough a Demon. Dont go to big either about 600cfm should be plenty hope this helps

Yep, a 302 is a 5.0. A GM 305 is also a 5.0...... But the traditional Ford 5.0 is the 302. Just laughing to myself that you didn't know that... Do you not work on cars much, or are you just a Chevy guy?
And yeah, like 84 said...you dont need to go too big for these motors, especially if you dont have a lot of mods. I'd say go 650 at your biggest, and thats if it's got some decent work done to it. Not like 347 stroker...but you know....intake, cam...little piddly stuff.

i dont really work on cars.. im 16 and dont really have alot of mechanicle knowledge but i knew the carb was missing i just really want to get the engine running so i can swap it with my 89 2.3.. but thanks tho

The 79 302's had low power, if you are thinking about a swap find a block from an 87-93 and do it that way. Or get a 351 and do that instead.
