I need a pedal stop. Be creative.

I have done the Gas Pedal Cable Spacer mod to take up the slack in the pedal. As a result, my throttle gets to WOT and the pedal is still an inch or two off the floor. I have been very careful with this but it is possible that I could push down too hard and snap the cable. I have been trying to come up with some sort of stopper to put on the floor, or attach to the gas pedal arm to make sure I cannot push too hard on the pedal and stress the cable far enough to break it. I need some sort of door stop thing.

Any ideas?

Here's one from Steeda. It's for the clutch pedal. It's a start... but I need it to stop the gas pedal from going any further than it takes to get to WOT.

Or maybe something like this... Any thoughts? How would I attach something like this to the carpet? I'm not sure I want to take a drill and just drill though the floor.

You could just get a rubber door stop like this

and screw it to the floor board behind the arm of the pedal.

Use a small piece of 1X3, and some 100 mile an hour tape!!

Dude when you did the gas pedal mod what did you use? A "C" clamp? if so you don't have to worry about is ever comming loose. As far as the gas pedal cable breaking that's not going to happen and even if it was I don't think a pedal stop would help. If I were you I would use a hood pin bolt or equivalent. Just bite the bullet and drill ahole in the floorpan if it bugs you that much.Thread the hood pin in/out untill you hit wot then tighten up the bolt and forget it! Just my 2 cents though.............jj
