Well I have been having 2nd thoughts about the trick flow track heat intake and 75 mm throttle body. Some of my friends around here said that this on a stock car is not really worth the money. I was wondering if i get my stock heads and intake ported and polished and get a bigger throttle body, would this be better than getting the track heat. There is a guy around here in ky that does good work and said the to get the stock intake ported and polished would be alot cheaper than the intake. He didnt give me a price on the intake and i didnt ask about the heads. How much does it usually run to get the stock heads and intake ported and polished. Also how much power increase will i see out of this. Also will i need anything else if i get my stock heads and intake ported and polished. Thanx for your help. Also i changed my mind about the intake becuase i need to get my second gear fixed real bad. That 2nd gear cost me a win twice already.

i have another question. Can i just get the track heat upper and have the guy port the lower to match the track heat. do they match up or would i have to have them match. People tell me what you would do.

no, the trick flow upper will never fit the stock lower. port work on both of those wont be worth it.the stock intake is not very good for performance even if it were ported. ported stock heads is ok. your better off with saving for an aftermarket intake and a 65-70mm throttle body. but you kinda asnwered your own question. get the tranny fixed then worry about performance.

that intake and t body are too big for a stock motor. a cobra (or similar, like trick flow street, the edelbrock base model-performer?, etc) and a 65mm tbody would be a better choice. also, i wouldnt waste my money on porting the stock stuff. just save it towards after market. but i definately agree with getting the tranny fixed first.
