I need help really bad...

hey...not tryin to sound ridiculous but I really need some help....I lost my 1988 ford mustang lx hatchback FACTORY KEY (the square one) to start my mustang...I really need it but is there any options I could get it...Today, i kept lookin for it all day...no luck....would it work if you tell me the "key number" like the door key for mustang is T-150......so would it work if you guys tell me the key number, i could find someone to make those key for me?? any other option...I need help really bad...I hope you guys can help me out...thanks

You may be able to go to ford with the VIN number and they may be able to get the key codes for it. I do not know this for sure, but its worth a shot.

I would say a new ignition....that's all I really know, if you get a motorcraft ignition you could get a key that looks identical to your old one. But that's probably more money than you want to spend. I would rather just get a key if I could.

I dunno if ford is the same way, but when i lost keys for my grand am, i took my title in to them and they made me a new ignition key

just put a new ignition switch in !

I had the same problem. Local ford dealer told me to call a 1800 number and they were no help. I had a locksmith come out and make me one...it was $40. If your really good then you can buy a blank, stick it in and wiggle it. Then take a file and file where ever you see marks on the blank, this is what a locksmith will do for you.

Oh and I found my keys the next day under a pair of pants in on the floor...

MAKE A SPARE WHEN YOU GET A NEW KEY
