Why put in a heavy expensive piece of crap that tears the door up when it goes off? I'd hate to know what it would have done to a person!

Sorry to hear about your car. But i must say, with that money you're getting back, you can pick up a nice PI GT for really cheap, and if you have to finance a few thousand (3/4 thousand) your monthly payments will be fairly cheap. I understand the feeling of letting go, but hopefully everything works out good for you.

Pi cars are going for 7000+ here. I'm going to get a 04 cobra next year when I'm dome with school plus il have everything paid off but my house then. I'm keeping the gt for a work car I drive 750 miles a week! This car is too nice to part out. I need a header panel hood and headlights that's it..
dude i understand what your saying but from an insurance stand point its not gonna happen for you ...
unless the person's face was plastered to the dash when the bag deployed, they would be fine. I don't know why your door was damaged. I've been in a Mustang when the airbag went off, and while it knocked my glasses into the back seat, it was hardly a big deal. The concrete median I hit presented a far greater threat to my safety and control.
Honestly, it's your car and your decision, but I'd give some thought to either taking the generous insurance settlement and replacing the car, or buiying the car back and include airbags as a part of repairs so it isn't a salvage title, if that's possible.
Airbags are not your problem. It appears that hitting deer is. I'd get a hunting license if I were you instead of worrying about airbags

Got a new glass hood in the box still for $75 off craigslist! tommarow im getting both air bags bumper cover and passenger fender for 125$ all i need is headlights, header panel and front emblem. craigslist FTMFW!

When you buy a replacement header panel, make sure it's an OEM one, not aftermarket. The aftermarket header panels are thinner and made with a different type of plastic, and as a result, they can crack even without being involved in a collision.
