Auto trader is really one of your best options, it's one of the biggest ways to get your car exposure.

And don't have an asking price WAY too high, because most people will just be drawn to the price more so then the car itself. You might also want to go on kelly blue book and print out the info with the value of your car and put it up if you park it at places. this will help let buyers know your not trying to cheat them.

There are 2 reasons why you car isn't selling 1) not enough exposure 2) Price is too high. Might be wise to look through autotrader and see what price similiar cars are going for to see if your in reason. I would also try and take off and sell some mods you have. I know from my experience I wanted something close to totally bone stock.

You should take your cousin over to look at the car and talk him down to 8K. Since he is a pro.

Explain to me how the car is too high? 12k? it bluebooks at close to that. the wheels and tires alone were $1700. id rather keep it then lower the price below 12k... the GT's for sale that are less then this one either have high miles, been hit, ugly color, rental cars, ect.. 3/4 of these mods have less then 300 miles on them.. all installed at reputable shops. all parts are high end no garbage. the car has never been beat.. never been raced ect.. seriously i pay $150 a month for this car.. if i cant sell it at 12k ill keep it. ill probably put it in the Auto trader eventualy. But for now ill wait for a few nice days to show it off.

lets put some of this pent up aggression twords getting rid of my car gentleman... =) 12k is a steal on this car and anyone who thinks diffrently has no clue what the parts and labor cost and the performance gains that these mods ect will get you. i think if i had time to go out and cruise schools and the base ect i could get 13-14k easy out of this car. anyone gets rid of this car for me with any profit over 12k you can pocket the rest of the cash for yourself. Price the mods.. all purchased brand new most put on less then 300 miles ago.. then price the labor to put them on.. then ad in the $1700 in wheels and tires.. 600 below retail even at that number.. then add to the fact that the car has seen nothing but synthetic blend oil, premium gas from chevron and has 38k miles on it.

I think the point being missed is that for a car to be of value, most of the time it needs to be stock to attract the largest amount of people. A car with mods would have to be exactly what the next person was looking for to get top dollar. Nine times out of ten it wont be. You either need to find that exact person, or de-mod. I have traded in a few cars in my time, and every time they have asked me "do you have the stock wheels?" or "wheres the stock air box?"...same goes when I buy a car...i want a clean slate to start with.

Personally I am not a huge auto trader person, but in a case like this, it would reach the most people and thus the best chance of finding that needle in a haystack person that the car fits perfectly as it sits.
Just my $.02

top doller would be 15-17k and thats is why i am trying to sell it on mustang forum as aposed to the trader.. as you stated it takes the right person. well i cant imagine a better place for people who would apprichiate what i have done to the car then right here. I would never trade a car in at a dealership unless the money made sense as far as how much i got and how much tax i would save. In this case it isnt realistic. so the secondary market is where this ones going to sell. im trying to get a buddie of mine to drive my car onto the Base and let it set there for a few days. He says i could get 15k easy doing that.. i just dont like having my car out of my sight. so we will see.

I went to autotrader( yeah I know you dont want to sell their) However 10-13k is the going price on a stock leather v8 with 40k miles.

if you demodded the car and put these stock items back on:

MM Caster plates $200 SELL USED FOR 75.00
MM Full length sub frame connectors $150 (keep)
Cobra Brake kit with 13" slotted ect.., $500 (keep)
Tokiko front struts $350 SELL USED FOR 170.00
Bilstien rear shocks $220 SELL USED FOR 100.00
Steeda triaxe shifter $200 SELL USED FOR 75.00
Magnaflow magnapack SS Catback $475 SELL USED FOR 275.00
Bassani SS Xpipe with cats $500 SELL USED FOR 250.00
Steeda sport springs $210 SELL USED FOR 100.00
Steeda x2ball joints $100(keep)
steeda bumpsteer kit $150 50.00
Mac CAI $175SELL USED FOR 75.00
Wheels and tires $1700 tires have at least 90% tread left. no dings on the wheels at all.SELL USED FOR 800.00-1000.00
Accufab 75mm TB $225 SELL USED FOR 125.00
Alpine deck $575 SELL USED FOR 200.00
JL Sub $225 SELL USED FOR 100.00
Box $300 SELL USED FOR 100.00
Mids and tweets $500 SELL USED FOR 250.00
Amps $600 SELL USED FOR 300.00

of course I dont know the average ebay used price but
YOU WOULD MAKE 3400.00 BACK + sell the car for 11k thats $14400.00 granted you might have only kept 1/2 of your stock stuff if that, We had to demod a car( 1K to do so) to sell it and made more doing it, rootus did the same thing.

THIS choice of course is if you dont have 6 months to sit on it and wait for that "right person". But even at 12k thats a really really fair price for what you have done to it. good luck. You will sell it if you put it in the auto trader.

( why dont you want to anyways?)
