I bought a 302 / 347 stroker project that was almost done, but the push rods and roller rockers came in the box, not yet installed. Well they dont have any directions for how to tighten them, I was wanting to know about putting them on right! What is the tightening procedure??

they go on just like the stock rocker arm nuts, except that you have the poly locks to deal with(that little allen head screw in the center of the nut). loosen that screw enough to allow for adjusting the rocker arms, just as you would the stock rockers, and when you are satisfied with that adjustment, then you hold the large nut in place and tighten up the allen screw. this locks the adjustment in place.

as long as you have a hydraulic cam. tighten nut untill rocker arm n pushrod slack is gone. this is called zero lash. to find it spin the pushrod as you slowly tighten rocker nut until you feel very light resistance, once you get there tighten nut 1/2 turn more, hold there and tighten the set screw. remember you need to adjust at intake and exhaust valves seperatly. to do this turn the engine by hand ( wrench on crank bolt) for intake valves turn engine until the exhaust valves are pushed up. and adjust exhaust valves the intakes will be pushed up.

and if you have a solid roller cam you need to adjust valve lash. use the correct size feeler guage inbetween the pushrod and rocker arm.

And make sure the trunion, the roller in the center, has the flat surface facing up. Or recess for the poly lock.
