Alright i pulled my motor to change to oil pan gasket, RMS, and some other stuff, today i got everything back together and it wont start. It will fire then die out, checked fuel pressure and spark both fine. also checked the firing order thats right to. but i did notice that i had the two plugs that go to the throttle body unpluged the first couple times i tried to start it. could that be the problem?? do i need to disconnect the battery to let the computer "re-learn" with those two plug connected?. Oh also when i was pulling the motor i ripped the end off the chassis ground that goes to the motor mount, but i replaced it with a 4G ground wire. any help would really be apprecatied

one more thing when i was tighting the terminal to postive post on the battery the wrench hit the metal part on the a/c line and made a couple little sparks, could that of f***ed anything up?

Remove the plug from the No. 1 cylinder (1st one on passenger side). Now turn the crank until the No. 1 piston is at TDC on the compression stroke. Here's how to do it by oneself. Place a piece of paper towel in the spark plug hole (not all the way in though). Now turn the crank by hand (you may need a breaker bar) until the paper towel pops out - then you are at TDC on the compression stroke. If you want you can stick a screwdriver, finger etc. in the spark plug hole and you should feel the pistion at the top of the stroke. Now you can check your timing marks etc.

Or if you have a helper have them turn the crank and you put your finger or thumb over the hole when the pistion is coming up on the compression stroke you will feel pressure trying to pust your finger out/off of the hole. You can then check with a screwdriver or something to check to see if the piston is at the top of the stroke.

Good luck

alright today i got the #1 cylinder to TDC and popped off my dist. cap. well i had put the #1 plug wire in the wrong place so that threw off the rest of the firing order..... which made me feel like an idoit, but oh well my clutch feels good and theres no more oil leaks. so im happy. thanks for the help guys.
