I've searched and got lots of "get this fan" threads but nobody every goes into the how-to of how they mounted them to the radiator and wired them up. I'm just looking for ideas on how everyone did theirs.

Example, my buddy cut up a Taurus fan and figured a way to suspend it inside his stock fan shroud...pretty cool. I'd rather mount mine directly to the fan though, so does anyone have pics of how they did theirs?

I think Derek did his like your friend did.

I use90* metal brackets to attach the fan to the radiator - I'm not at all a fan of the pull-through straps.

I wanna use some of the shroud that it has...ideally i'd like to trim it down so that the shroud sits flat on the radiator and then work on strapping it on. I don't think the Mark VIII fan will even fit inside the stock shroud though, it's pretty huge. The thing i like about using the stock shroud is that it's made to fit perfectly on the radiator so it distributes air better, but i don't like having that huge shroud up front in my engine bay.

i used my entire mark8 shroud, just trimmed it's thickness so it would fit semi-flush against the radiator and still clear the crank and waterpump pulley.

a pair of 90* brackets keep it to the radiator on top and bottom while a few pieces of bent aluminum keep it snug from the sides.

I cant find any of the threads i was using, but they're on here somewhere. Everyone else's looked very nice and mine is....well...its a work in progress just like everything else.

i did use a DCcontrol unit for the wiring and all.
