i need some opinions on my wiring, out of control

like i posted in another thread, i have done tons of wire hiding and to be perfectly honest im kinda in over my head i wish i could take a pic and show everyone how much of a mess it is but i dont have a dig cam. its insane and everything is tangled and its pretty frustrating. I have looked for replacement harnesses and havent found. i tried painless and ford racing ones from summit but the guy said they are for conversions and are not for replacement. i just want to rip all the wiring out and cut it all up and burn it lol. what would you do if you were me? its kinda too late to try and put it back to normal too.

Drew, do you have any gearhead/wiring friends? friends whom have done the wire hiding already? a mustang club where you can go ask people stuff?

i have not hid wires (i actually keep them out for when i have to rewire stuff. LOL), so im not much help to you bud.

oh yeah, i bet pics would help the many in here whom have hid wires - do you have any friends with dig camera that you can borrow (or even let them shoot the pics)?

well seems like there arent many stangers around here that have done it. I mean, i have taken eelctrical classes and i understand wiring andhow to read diagrams, thats no prob. its just the fact that everything is twisted into a huge ball. haha I think i should buy a used main harness and just disconnect everything, itll be nice since it will be wrapped up and not all crazy.

cool. sorry - i did not mean to insinuate you did not know wiring. i too think the logistics of physically getting wires/harnesses where you want them would be the biggest pain.

After you disconnect everything, take all of the tape and plastic wire loom stuff off all of the wires. This will help make them big ole' wire looms much smaller, and it will give you some needed slack to make the connections. It's not easy, just paying attention to detail, but there is no exact science to it. Taking all of the tape and plastic off of all of the wires helped me out a bunch when I hid mine. The harder of the 2 sides if the drivers side. Once you hide the solenoid and solenoid wires, the rest is downhill. Let me know where the problem is and I will help you out. I have tons of pics also.

the drivers side is entierely hidden, same with the pass. even the coil, starter relay and tach adapter are behind the drivers side. the prob is the whole loom on the firewall. i cut each wire and ran it behind the dash and connected it back up to the comp but now i have a huge ball of wires on my passenger foot space

How many wires did you cut/lengthen? The wires on my passenger side are ran right below the A/C drain plug. Have you put the dash back in yet?

This will give you an idea of where they need to be ran. I made some minor changes after this pic, but this is what you should expect. You don't have enough slack to run them any lower, but if you run them any higher, the dash will not go in.

ohhhhh, maybe i shoudl take the dash all the way out. i just took the gauges out and the jockey box and kinda snaked them through there. is taking the dash out pretty hard?

If you take the dash out, it makes it much easier. You can see everything and running the wires is a piece of cake.

Taking the dash out is not that hard, just time consuming and there are a lot of screws. Just pay attention a little and you should be alright.
