I Need Water Pump Help!!!!

I have recently bought a Motorsports Motor that is set up with a serp belt system. I want to use my V-belts but my water pump wont line up the pulleys. Ford says that I can use my oridgnal pump but thier wrong. The but has two "ears" that stick out of the back that will not allow it to mount up. Im will to do anything to get the motor in the car. Does anyone have any ideas?

What year are you talking about. You most likely need to change the timing cover as well as the water pump. I did! I have a late model 5.0 in a 66 with a 66 timing cover and water pump. I needed to get a set of March pulleys for alignment, but then it all lined up perfectly. I'm sure there are other sources of pulleys also.

Its a 67.
That sounds like what im going to have to do.

The Ford Motorsports 5.0 engine assemblies come with the Explorer timing cover and short water pump. The earlier pumps do not fit that timing cover. Swap covers and pumps and use your original front accessories.
