Okay, here is my dilemma, and some of you might laugh, but this is important to me :(

I have a black '94... Now! I am getting 18" Saleen wheels for my car.
BUT! I do not know if I should get silver, or chrome...
Too many pros and cons for both, but I need some serious input, because I don't know where to go from here. Pics, advice, the whole SHU-BANG!..
I know, I know, big deal
but my whole thinking behind it is, with a black car, is chrome too much? Will silver do... silver's easier to clean.. Or....

help :bang:

If you get Chrome, you better keep that car spotless all the time. IMO, the chrome rims will outbling the car, rather then enhance it if the car isn't very shiny as well. I think SN95Stangman said it best. On a yellow, red, or white car chrome is better. I personally prefer silver, its tougher and more functional looking. Like when you see brushed steel appliances.

Another vote for chrome! I gots Saleens and love them. Where are you thinking of purchasing them from or have you gotten that far yet? Sorry the pics suck but it was a rainy day and needed pics kinda quick. Guess you could use paintshop to edit the color and make it black and see what yours would look like. :p If interested I got a link to the seller so you can get a better look at the rim itself.

I was actually just going to order my rims from saleen itself. They're something like, 500 a rim, which is brutal. but i mean, i love the rim, and as you can see by your car, they look so sweet. See everyone is bringing up smart examples, like i know chrome is intense, so i have to keep the car clean, which is always is... buut, silver you can do a little more with, and not as in your face. but then, i don't want to get silver rims and have the same white powder coat effect i have with my stock set. :notnice:

your rims do look sweet man.
there isn't a doubt about that, and if that's chrome...

OT: its actually "beep beep, who's got the keys to my jeep?" :D

I have a black car with silver rims and i get tons of compliments. Chrome is too flashy for me. no matter what choice you go with, itll still look awesome as hell.

Why not go with 19" chrome spinners!!!! :D

Seriously IMO i would save the money and go with the silver ones. EIther set is going to look 100 times better than stock rims with powdercoat so save the cash for the go fast parts.
Yeah go with spinners cuz I heard from this ricer guy outsise of a bar that they are "aerodynamically" better for the car. Then he proceeds to tell me some crap like the centrifugal force of the spinning rim makes the car go faster and and crap. I was like wtf did you just say. Stop, take a breath, get in your car, and leave before everyone laughs you away. The guy honestly believing himself was the sadder than the nonsense coming out of his mouth.

It's true, it works in conjuction with the 4 stage wing and decals to produce extreme downforce that holds your front tires on the ground at speeds well in excess of 30 mph. It's crazy.
