well i started the motor build today. just a putting new bearings and another crank in. i plastigauged the std. crank with the .001 bearings and it measured .002. is this a good main clearance. this is what the shop gave me and ordered. he said that in mic'd out to std. but it is on the verge of needing to be turned. so he said that .001 bearings would do great with it. there were no tapes in the journal either. by the way this is going in my 82 supercab f150. it as an 87 HO that will have stock stang headers going into a fully polished single in/dual out Banks muffler with fully polished pass. side exit at the rear of the cab. it sounded good on the 302 before the pistons melted. i am also putting a serpentine belt system from a 91 tbird in it.
