Right after high school, a pal bet me he could outscore me on an IQ exam. We signed up, payed up, and took it. Extremely loooong test. I edged him out with a 158. Yes 142 is high, I just love that story heh.

There are smart AUTO guys here (not that people here are dumb), but to get a good score on the REAL IQ tests, you have to be smart, AND know how to take tests...there's a secret to it..

Online IQ tests are stupid. If the IQ test took an IQ test it would rate at 12, that's how stupid the online IQ tests are.

I have taken one or two online I.Q. tests and 2-3 over the years in school/for school (one when I was alittle tyke for the private school I went to). I avg. at 142 on the "real" ones, and a 148 on the online ones.

Not that that was your score, but that they are "real" (even though that I noticed you put it in quotes)

Yes or at least the school said they were when they used them to place me.

Advanced placement in Bio., Human Bio. 99% rank, History 99th% rank, and Art 99% rank. Had a very good offer from the Chicago Art Inst. but turned it down as I didnt want to do animation, and my family is the Hopkins in a preaty well known school. Hell in college I stoped buying psych. books to keep me going to class and still got a B+ when 80% of the class got a c or less.

I was wondering if someone would pick up on the " "

IQ tests are realy only used to place younger people (less than 12yrs old) in courses. The older you get the more and more it takes a back seat. It realy only kinda gives a est. on how well you pick up on things at first.

Lets get a few things straight. Online IQ tests are complete BS. Without a doubt in my mind; they do no ask enough questions.

When I was 5 or 6, I took the official test with a psychiatrist, and recieved a 142. When I do online tests, I get anywhere from 130's to 150's

They are rated as such. The average person of a specific age rates as 100. Above is better, lower is worse, obviously. It is a quotient; You take your score, then divide it by the score of the average person, then multiply it by 100. There lies your score.

Your I.Q. changes over time, but not dramatically. You still possess the same basic ability to learn, but the average score of your age group changes and you change slightly, thus your score changes.

If most of the people on this board scored 130, that would be the average score would be 130, and there lies the problem.

I took the real test when I was young to get accepted into the GATE (gifted & talented education) program for elementary/middle/high school classes.

I real IQ test is rated as 100 being average or normal, everything above that being smarter than the average person, and anything below be below average obviously. If you get a 100 think of it as being 100% there in the head.
