everytime i pick one up that says 425hp 331 stroker or rebuild your 302 for 350hp or whatever they always have a carb!!

Can anyone write an article using fuel injection!!!

These writers and editors are all misleading morons.

FordMuscle.com, MustangMonthly, 5.0 Mag. all of them are realloy getting on my nerves.

Thanks god i caught on to this and won't waste anymore money!!!!!

BTW, i am by no means knocking a carb set-up.

The reason you see carbs is because they're just plain easier and typically more impressive on the engine dyno as far as all out peak numbers go. If you put the right EFI parts on top you'd see the same or very similar numbers, what really matters is the heads/cam/block build up that make it count.

Personally, the only one that really interests me anymore is Modified Mustangs. They seem to have a nice balance of the different body styles in each issue.

On a side note, I let my MM&FF subscription lapse after subscribing for six years, since all they ever seem to feature anymore is S197 cars. They kept sending me notices trying to get me to resubscribe for about four months. A couple of weeks ago, they sent me a freaking collection notice!! I called them up and reamed them a new one. They ended up calling off the dogs.

I stopped buying 5.0 mags when they stopped actually having 5.0's in them. Makes about as much sense to have a buttload of S197's in 5.0 Magazine as it does for Classic Mustangs to feature SN95's. :notnice:

+1. how can a magazine that's called 5.0 not have any 5.0's in it except for in the ads. anyways, i dropped my subscription about 6 mos. ago, and don't miss it. can't really blame them for moving on, you can only show how to do an intake or 5 lug swap so many times... but at least change the name.

Yeah i like Modified Mustangs....not only do they have a nice balance, their mag itself is just better quality....better pictures, better clearer print/paper. I have probably 5 years worth of both 5.0 and Muscle Mustangs from back in the day which i flip through on the crapper, but i won't get another subscription from either of them.

It was pretty awesome the other weekend when Frankenstang and I were digging through this big pile of really old 5.0 mags she had from way back in like '89 and '93 and such. Found some pretty helpful how-to articles in there, too. The ads for products were all cheesy and hand-drawn like JC Whitney parts listings. And I kept subconsciously expecting to turn a page and see another damned article on an SN95 or S197 that someone had poured $50k into for a build-up, but was pleasantly disappointed to find only 5.0's in there. :nice:

The chicks they had posing with the cars back then had some seriously awesome poofy-big hair going on, too. :D

I let all of my Mustang Mags Subscriptions Lapse as they never had any 5.0 Stuff it seemed as if it was all Modular with an article here and there about a 5.0.

Modified Mustangs is the BEST MAG BY FAR It covers alot of fox stangs AND it even covers ALOT of 4 eyes!!! And for those of you who are biching about why 50 Mustangs and Fast Fords are only covering 4.6/S197....its because THEY DID change the name of there magazine.... thats why i canceled my subscription. As of December 3rd it is now called.... "'05 Mustangs and Fast Fords" If i had the talent/connections i'd start a magazine called 1979-1993 Fox Body Mustang Mag, covering everything from low mileage stock to full blown street cars. YOu can't tell me you wouldn't buy every issue....i sure as hell would:nice:

I am letting my MM&FF subscription run out next month, they have a big magizine full of ads and useless crap (to me anyway)

5.0 and Super Fords........I have subsctiption through 09, I like the magizine but its starting to go the other way on us Fox guys.

I just started subcribing from Modified Mustang, I had a little hicup with them but they assure me I will start getting new issues soon. I have heard great things about the magizine and met the editor and chief Huw Evans through 87ttopstang and he is a really cool guy that loves all mustangs but has a special place for the Foxbody. I have bought a few issues from the new stand and like the mag alot.

ya i just renewed as well but after this one is done I'm done buying this crap!!! no 5.0s in a 5.0 mag???? what the hell! now my fave part of the mag is the BOTM!! i look at the back page and toss it on the table and if i get around to reading it i read it! not like before id read it cover to cover! oh well! OK i have to go now and take a pain pill! i fell at hockey last night a dislocated my right shoulder and its hurting from trying to type and use my computer!James

yeh I agree. Ive said this before, I like the S197s, but thats not what Im into. I think Primedia(the magazine company) should come out with a magazine just for the S197s. Keep 5.0s in 5.0 mags! Lets face it, the foxes and the S197s have NOTHING in common.(ok maybe the 8.8, thats it!)

I think Modified Mustangs noticed this when they did their mag, as every issue has more than a couple Foxes in it. They should just bring out another mag and call it FOX and run nothing but '79-93 stuff.

Yep. Modified mustangs only here too. The editors of the other 2 seem to think that their action is only on the newer cars. I emailed the editors to look at the forums and see where most of the posts are. You would think when they see the amount of people posting in the 5 oh forums, they might realize we are still a sizeable population of mustang owners. And in a lot of cases, they are people like me. People who wanted a 5 oh in high school and couldn't afford it. However, now not only can we afford it, we can afford to spend a lot of money on toys for it. And yet, our market segment is being ignored. Yes, I know you can only do so many head swaps, but not everyone has a 7-10 year collection of old magazines. And I'd rather read about a hci setup that I haven't seen before than read about the newest procharger setup on a s197.

The reason that 5.0 doesn't change it's name, is because if it did, all the fox readers would quit reading it and their readership would fall into the crapper. We keep getting it in the hope that there will be a few foxes in it. I agree Modified Mustangs is much better. 5.0 has also turned into more of a catalog than anything else - it's just pages and pages of the same ads over and over. I still get it but will probably let it lapse when it's time to renew. I'm getting tired of the S197 articles that the owners just write checks to the engine guy, to the paint guy, to the tuner guy etc etc. Most of the 5.0 stuff guys want to do it themselves.
