I really can't stand the magazines anymore!

The reason you see more carbs is simplicity they just work! They make more power and the same torque for less money and you don't have to get your computer reflashed every time you change your oil. If I hear on more person state they need a custom tune for their new Systemax intake and Pine tree air freshener swap I am gonna pee myself. Come on for real, watch the NMRA and see whats going on its turning into Carburetion Nation Baby!!! And as far as mags go I like tech not pictures of events no one attends anyway(Norwalk FFW).
The only reason you don't see Fox cars in mags is they don't put em out there like they used to, we started it go take it back: AKA Build some **** and they will come!! Ask Turbo Fox you got to have something magazine worthy to get it in a magazine so quit belly achin' and get to work you could be the next big thing!!!
Sorry about the vent but DAMN get at it( Foxes For Life ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree on the carbs, but I'm not going that way and it's just difficult to find good articles for reference when trying to put a nice EFI combo together.

In 5 years, I can go carb due to emissions.

Yep, from what I have been noticing is the carb'ed versions tend to dyno the higher PEAK numbers.

Now, what I do appreciatte is a magazine willing to go into the 21st century instead of being stuck in the past.

Febuary's 5.0 issue had some 5.0L's in it. Some nice ones at that...

SO the money you spend on the magazine is breaking the bank that much that you will not get it anymore? When and if they do start putting 5.0s in the mags noone will know because you don't get the magazine anymore.

Oh well I will continue to subscribe simply because what else is there to read. Who cares if there are more 4.6s anf S197s, not buying the magazine wont get them to change, telling them through emails, and building a car they would want to feature might though??

Many letters to the editor have been written on this subject and printed in both MMFF and 5.0. They just blow them off and put the people down as being stuck in the past. As I said, I let my MMFF subscription lapse after 6 years of continuous subscription and several years before that of buying it off the newstand. If they don't print something I'm interested in reading, why should I spend $36 a year to read it? If they print something I'm interested in, I can always buy it off the newstand if I'm so inclined. I'll probably do the same thing when my 5.0 subscription comes due. I have no interest in S197 tech and the only thing I really use it for is to keep up on who is selling what in their ads.

My experience with Modified Mustangs is that they seem to make it a point to have something from each generation in each issue. For example, the January 2008 features are a turbo 94 GT, a ridiculous 06 GT with a Star Trek theme, a really nice 86 SVO and a 2003 Mach 1 race car. Tech articles are: putting a dual disc clutch in a Terminator, "17 myths of super charging, part 2" and a body restoration project on a Fox GT.

In contrast, the February 08 (WTF's up with that?) issue of 5.0 feature cars are four S197's and one Fox. Four S197's? C'mon.

Wow! None of you guys even noticed that Modified Mustangs sold out and is now owned by Primedia - the publisher of MM&FF AND 5.0.........

Yeah i don't care if Martha Stewart owns and publishes the mag, as long as the content is right :D

Hell they can call it "Marth Stewart's Modified Mustangs" and as long as it's the same inside that's all that counts.

Haha lol 85. carbed is the way to go and 5.0 mag sucks. They dont care about what made them who they are today. They only care about what is hott to sell magazines. So we got the shaft and now we all read modified mustangs. It is a balance for the true mustang enthusiast that covers all years.

If you remember correcly 5.0 mag was originally Super Ford which always had tired iron and never featured a fox car, it was the fact that fox cars were the next big thing and were taken over that got them to jump ship. They are all great mags and I subscribe to 5.0, MM&FF, MM, and Race Pages because they are all in there own right kick azz mags, so Grab em' up you might just learn something!!!!!

 What I'm getting at is.........if the content of the others sucks, it's only going to be a matter of time before the same publisher kills Modified Mustangs - Primedia SUCKS!

x3

I subscribe to all 4 - Modified, MMFF, 50SF, and Mustang Enthusiast. Half the time I barely have interest in half the issue, but the rest is worth it. At $12 per year for 50&SF, it's hard to say it's not worth keeping coming if you enjoy at least looking at Mustangs. Even the others at $20 per year doesn't even come out to $2 per issue. ****, buy just FOUR at newsstand price and you're already at that cost.

For whomever it was that was referencing "05 Mustangs & Fast Fords" magazine, at least get the name right if you're going to bash them. They are "5.0 Mustangs and SUPER FORDS" and "Muscle Mustangs and FAST FORDS".

Like TrboFox said, there's at least one Fox Body in the Feb. MMFF worth looking at :nice:

The reason you see carbs is because they're just plain easier and typically more impressive on the engine dyno as far as all out peak numbers go. If you put the right EFI parts on top you'd see the same or very similar numbers, what really matters is the heads/cam/block build up that make it count.
:nice:

Tuning an EFI car takes skill and patience of which I have neither.

I recently was going through the 17 years of mustang magazines I had (yes, I am a pack rat) to see what articles to keep and what to recycle. This included 5.0 and MM & FF. The older the magazines got the nore articles there were to keep. The tech articles were just better.

Since Primedia :notnice: took over all mustang magazines they have simply gone down hill. I just let my 5.0 subscription run out. I believe they publish modified mustang too.

I still subscribe to all them. The editors haven't forgotten us, they need to get in with whats hot right now to survive and pay the bills. Besides, the really nice foxes still get in the magazines, just look at that green one in the Feb. issue of 5.0.

At least this way it will give us money-impaired fox guys more time to add parts and make our cars nicer looking for when they do want to feature more foxes.

BTW- Hey 25thMustang, I'm sure you saw your car made it in the back of the Feb. 08 issue of 5.0&SF, right? Congrats!
