Some friends and I were playing some football yesterday (tackle of course) and on one tackle, somebody stepped on my hand, and I heard all 4 fingers pop. Well they hurt like hell for a little while, but then they got better. They were fine last night, but when I woke up this morning, my ring finger was swollen, and bent down, and I can't bend it straight. It hurts to try to bend it straight. I thought I just jammed it real good, since I've done it a lot before. But it's never swollen like this, and I can't bend it. My mom says she thinks I broke it, any ideas? This sucks.

I hope your not left handed. Ice it 10min on and 20min off and go get it looked at. If you broke it yesterday you would have known. It could have also torn something and it got inflamed over night. Could you move it yesterday?

dang dude im supposed to be going and playing tom. night hope that don't happen to me. Last time i was served a minor concussion though. Anyway man ice on 10 off 20 like dude said is correct. Another thing you want to do is get that finger straight. If you don't and have to go to the dr. when he sets it you will be in more pain than if it was striaght. Hope it gets better dude.

Well it was okay yesterday, I could move it somewhat. It will move where it connects to the hand, but the joint in the middle of the finger wouldn't move. I've iced it down, and it will bend now, so looks like it's not broken after all. Phew! Must have just jammed it real bad.

Brandon, why do you say you hope I'm not left handed?

Chris, every game we play, somebody gets hurt, lol. My buddy Jesse jacked his leg up yesterday, he thought it was his ACL (whatever that is), but I called him today and he says he must have just sprained it, because he's able to move around on it.

Matt, what do you mean switch hitter?

Get a Haynes manual for it and look in the troubleshooting section.

dude no way if it was his ACL he would be screaming ive seen two friends blow theirs out one in baseball in high school and the other in basketball. That hurts like no nes business. Its shearing pain when you do it there is no mistaking that you did it.

I hate it when that happens. Sounds like a real bad jam. Ever go to catch the ball (a real football not nerf) and the point hits you dead square in the tip of one finger OUCH - worse when its cold out.

Usually a break will hemorage and cause a mean looking bruise around the fracture.

Oh he was screaming all right. But he's still moving on it, so it must not be his ACL.

Well I can move it around today and bend it, and it doesn't hurt as bad. Still swollen a bit, but not like it was. Must have been a real bad jam. I've never jammed it that bad before.

Pokageek, that's exactly how I jammed it. That was just during warmup too, before the actual game, lol.

John, no bruising, I'll keep that in mind for next time though.
