Grabber Orange didn't exist in 1969, If you care about it being correct.

But if you aren't shooting for correctness, looks good to me.

Twisters are the ones from the kansas dealers, right? Yeah im not one for buying cars so i wasn't sure if i was going to get ripped off. I don't care, i wanted this car! yeah it needs body work but it is mostly just little patches here and there. I can get quarter panels etc. for cheap and it will only take a few hours to cut/weld/prime.

Ya a special for Kansas dealers, I've always liked them even thought its basically just a decal package I think. But I do like the color of the one in the pic.

'69Mach1Chick, could you make a trip to south Jersey. My fiance could use some lessons in restoring/hotrodding old cars. I keep telling her its not just a guy thing, but all she wants to do is drive the finished product and usually break it at some point . Damn shes tough on cars

Grabber Orange/Calypso Coral DID exist in 1969, just not on Mach 1s.

NEVER????? Actually it is one of the more uncommon 69' colors since Lime Gold was all the rage back then. Personally I think it looks even hotter on a convertible but my opinion is obviously a little biast.

No not at all, that was not my pic, just one online that I linked to. Are you sure the one in your pic isn't actually clearwater aqua though? That is the correct shade for 68, not gulfstream. The above vert is mine and a much more true representation of the actual color. Believe it or not though it gets a lot more blue at sunset.

I love the gulfstream aqua, and the pictures that you guys posted help me love it even more. I have a candy-apple red Mach. I would do the gulfstream aqua, grabber orange, candy-a red, or raven black with red mach1 stripes(looks absolutely awesome).

I'm not sure if Acapulco blue was an option on the 69 machs but I think i have seen that color on one before and it looks incredible with the black stripes and hood. But don't listen to me, i like pakrat am biast. In fact my friends know me better as blueberry because i just plain like blue. Just my two cents

Congrats on the 69 project! Some dreams can turn into nightmares easily though! I'm sure you will be fine! You need to come up with a plan & follow it for the restoration. I would hope that you had the floors, frame rails, cowl, torque boxes & shock towers checked out prior to purchase. I've restored 4 69-70 machs & can hook you up on the best parts vendors (who to & not to deal with) & may even have some parts you may need down the road. Keep us informed on the progress & photo's. AMERICAN IRON! FIRE ENGINE RED gets my vote!

I had a 69 Mach with a 428 CJ and a 4-speed that was Acapulco Blue from the factory. It had gold Mach stripes instead of the black. I guess they came with both. It was actually a fairly common color for Machs back then.

I used to be a big fan of Indian Fire, but I have gotten bored with it. I am going to paint my 69 gold and make ot a GT replica with black trim. I have always been a sucker for gold muscle cars.

Damn, did I forget to tell you I moved back? Actually I have some more recent NH pics, but that was the first full size one on my page so I just chose it for the link. Not that the car has changed much since the pics anyway except for unseen areas, well that and a few more road chips I guess.

Sorry if the name is a mix up, I saved that picture off of a "For Sale" ad, and the owner mentioned that it was Gulfstream Aqua. I also talked to a guy that lives in Erie, PA at a car show, he has a 1969 Mach restored to PRISTINE condition, absolutely amazing. Right down to the factory color motor components and the Original white interior cleaned up and restored... His was Gulfstream Aqua. The color is breathtaking in real life, especially when its fresh or well taken care of (this one had multiple coats of polish or wax) It had black stripes, and an Automatic. 1969 Mach 1's are to die for.

I agree with the above post, someone mentioned black, with the red refelctive stripes. That is one of the meanest color schemes ever, especially when the car has Front and rear spoilers. It looks so good. Acapulco Blue, Medium Metallic Blue, Indian fire red, Yellow (forgot the "Real" name), Black, and White. Those are my favorites.

Torque boxes and stuff i will probably make for cheap in the shop. Floor pans are laying all over right now, bu the car will be driveable before any major work is done. It is going to just be flat black epoxy primer and have old school hand painted pinstripes in a color to match the traction bars. I just want to work on the suspenson and motor before i ever think about paint colors.
