a while back i had my cable switched from the crappy steeda adj. cable back to stock.. since then i havnt been able to make the adjuster work with the stock cable...i can tighten the bolt as far as it can go and it just wont work..

today at work im looking at the same adjuster and see like a silver sleeve type thing that goes into the adjuster...mine doesnt seem to have that... is it supposed to be there?

i have the steeda adjuster...im at work and cant post a pic pf what it looks like so if someone can post a pic of the adjuster i can tell you what i think i am missing.. if you all can understand what im talking about please lemme know.. thanks guys!

Do you have an aftermarket clutch quadrant? This would be needed if you're using the stock cable. Sounds to me that you have a firewall adjuster that is totally adjusted in toward the firewall and you're trying to adjust it by tightening the bolt that holds the adjuster to the firewall.

Your adjuster should look something like this when it is installed, with the back half behind the bracket hidden inside the firewall.
