So I was at work and it was like 9:05 when I was gettinng out and my car was parked towards the middle of the parking lot since we have to give the customers the best spots. So anyway i was waiting for my manager to lock the door and i look towards my car and there is an old boxy dodge caravan parked on an angle next to it. So I said outloud " what the hell is that mini van doing next to my car" Then I looked away and then back again and I noticed two guys next to my passenger door and as soon as i started walking towards it right after i noticed them there, they jumped in to the van and took off...As soon as I saw this i was sprinting to my car and checked the left side of it...and nothing was wrong besides the mangled lock, which got screwed up when somone else tried to break in...Then i followed them onto the highway and caught saw them getting off an exit (for the guys around here...The 21 exit going to Newark off of Route 3)...I didnt follow them since i dont know my way around newark since it is an urban city and pretty confusing at times. Also Newark is the place where a lot of stolen cars end up around here.

I just wanted to rant....I think I remember the license plate but im not to sure... I never thought someone would try to take a car at my work...I dont know what to do now..

Dude, that's actually kind of you that you didn't run'em off the road...I know I probably would have freaked out

Report the license plate, maybe the cops already have the vehicle on file, or it might be stolen as well

Does your work have video surveilance of the parking lot? If so i'd have the cops come take a look at the tape and see if they can get a tag number off the van. If your work doesnt have security cameras I would still make a police report anyways with your best description of the van and the area you last saw it in...it can only help.

wow thats crazy.

just so you know like 4-5 years ago mine was taken from clifton commons on a sunday from between 1 and 2 in the afternoon. .my wife, she was my GF at the time, were an hour and twenty early to an early show. so we went to BN and killed an hour. so we had 20 mins before the show so i went to the car to get a ciggy and there was a jetta in my spot. and i remembered my spot, it was two spots over to the right of the white minivan. broad daylight. never took it to that mall again.

and the cops blow in clifton. it took them 3 hours and 45 mins to show up for a report. i was standing in the heat waiting for this ass to not even get out of the car just took my info and left. for that i would of emailed them my info. worthless.

by any chance if a 6 foot fat head starts to point at you at work and laugh, its me. lol j/k

Yea, I hate that lot with a passion. I watched a guy take his shopping cart and fling it towards the other side of the row of cars, RIGHT towards my car, and it hit my back bumper. I ran to the car, and when he saw it was my car, he jumped right in his car, but wasn't quick enough because i got to his car just in time and started screaming like a mofo at him....he got the idea that i was pissed!!! That was one of the days i saw your car there cause i was at AC Moore gettin supplies before i left for school. Thats why whenever i park in that lot i park close to the door, and i put my CLUB on haha...its actually a device that goes around the clutch or brake pedal, and the steering wheel so you cant turn the wheel, or push the clutch in.

I cought someone trying to break into my old car. It was a civic (good gas milage). I chased him for an hour before he finally got away. Only reason he got away was because he turned into an off-road trail with his truck and I could only go in so far.

When I reported it to the police, the officer didn't turn away his laptop when he entered the info (almost think he did it on purpose). So I was able to get the guys address and take care of bussiness myself.

I think that anybody caught breaking into cars should be really punished instead of a slap on the hand, or give them the slap and let the vehicle owner have 5 min alone with him no questions asked.

Glad to hear they didn't get anything.
