With the current numbers, I would be thinking probably about the same as a stock, unmodified low mileage 2003-2004 Cobra. 20k-25k range. Of course that would only be with papers to back anything and everything done to the car.

Man...

You're making a smart move, but it still sucks. I'm glad you'll be bringing it to one last Mustang Week. Make it count, haha.

The market is kind of rough right now, but I could see it fetching 18-20k without much hassle, maybe 22k if you wanted to wait around.

I agree with Cobra... just put it up for sale for what you want, see if it sells and if/when a buyer comes along let it go. You may take a couple of thousand loss over parting it out, but the money is there immediately, no waiting game for trying to sell parts.

I don't think 22k would be a problem at all. I know I've always heard that performance mods decreases the value of a car, but to someone who is looking for a car like that, that is a heck of a deal. 22k for a car that has over twice that invested in it, done right, low mileage, in very good condition....I wouldn't think it would be a problem to get that. If I were in the market for a 600 hp Mustang, I'd jump all over that.

Yeah, that's the difference. People are willing to buy a well built, turn key car that makes a lot of power and will hold together, as well as turn a lot of heads.

It's people that slap things together, have no documentation of builds, parts, etc. and beat the snot out of the car that end up really taking the biggest hit on a sale.

I would definitely pay at least 20k for 751hp and 36k on the clock. Best of luck to ya, man!

The real problem with parting it out is instead of one financial transaction you will have dozens or hundreds. The statistical probability of having a douchebag on the other side of the table lowballing you, trying to scam you, backing out of the deal, etc will GREATLY increase.

Additionally thinking that you will sell every part and get good money on them all is unrealistic and is going to be much more time consuming than you could possibly imagine. And much more hassle than it will be worth.

I think you have two choices:
-take your time selling and find the right buyer who is willing to pay what you want
-trade it in and chalk it all up to a lesson learned (the lesson being do not build mad tyte race cars if you are not in the correct place in your life to be able to devote the needed time and money)

dude!! dont part that car out. i really really dont think you will get 5k more by doing this for one. and it will be more work than you think....not to mention all the effort to sell everything. maybe if you wrecked it but that is a beautiful car that you put ALOT of time in. let someone enjoy the car you built and be done with it. put it on ebay so you'll be in a national market and set your reserve at 20k. that is a fair price for everyone involved and you'll be free and clear of it with one deal. think about it man.

I'm sorry to hear ben. I really wouldnt know in your situation, but, the easiest thing would to be just sell the car as whole. This must be hard, but not hard enough to choose over your son/daughter. Btw, are you having a boy or girl?

we dont know for another month what we will be having. i'm hoping it is a boy, but i'll be happy with either.

i dont NEED to sell the car at all. it is paid off and i could easily keep it. i just think it would be nice to drop $800 in car payments and about another $75 in insurance every month by paying off our other cars. plus the added bonus of getting either a new GT or a vette in a year makes the deal even sweeter

If it's a real Saleen I'd say put it up for sale as is a couple thousand over what you are willing to sell it for. Right now it's hard to sell anything that's big but you just never know. Include plenty of pics, make sure the car inside and out is spotless.

If it's paid off then what is it costing you? Keep it. If you want a vette, it defeats the purpose of selling/parting it out because of a child on the way. This is your way of justifying to yourself to sell it to get something bigger and better.

Keep it or you'll regret it. I'm sure you've spent more than $22k in just the MODS so selling it for $22k would be a stupid decision. I wouldn't sell my 2003 GT with 79k for less than $15k it means that much to me.

This is the end, beautiful friend
This is the end, my only friend
The end of our elaborate plans
The end of ev'rything that stands
The end

No safety or surprise
The end
I'll never look into your eyes again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need of
some strangers hand
In a desperate land

Lost in a Roman wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain
There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the king's highway
Weird scenes inside the goldmine
Ride the highway West baby

Ride the snake
Ride the snake
To the lake
To the lake

The ancient lake baby
The snake is long
Seven miles
Ride the snake

He's old
And his skin is cold
The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here and we'll do the rest

The blue bus is calling us
The blue bus is calling us
Driver, where you taking us?

The killer awoke before dawn
He put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall

He went into the room where his sister lived
And then he paid a visit to his brother
And then he walked on down the hall
And he came to a door
And he looked inside
Father?
Yes son
I want to kill you
Mother, I want to.............

Come on, baby, take a chance with us
Come on, baby, take a chance with us
Come on, baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus

This is the end, beautiful friend
This is the end, my only friend
The end

It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me

The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end
