I have a 92LX Hatch thats red with pony wheels and I was wondering what would look good. I know where I can get a set of 17" Chrome Cobra Rs for 600.00 w/tires. What else like what kind of hood? Cobra R,Cowl,etc...

OH and if any one has some pictures of hatchs with cobra Rs please leave a picture.

dude, i got the same car man, 5.0 lx hatch. you know what i think makes mine stand out? i dont have any appearence mods done. all performace stuff. granted though larger wheels and tires would help my excellent handling, but i just love that stock look. so i would keep your hood the same, nothing wrong with a clean cut hood, and as for the wheels i would go with those R's, subtle yet effective. just dont get chrome, thats kinda to flashy in my opinion. btw, what color is your stang?

Chrome ponies, a cowl, a saleen wing, and a unique paint color(burnt copper orange or something like that).

Crome rims look a lot better than painted rims.

If you want your Stang to stand out, throw a BDS 6-71 Roots Blower on her. With that sticking out of your hood you will be turning heads were ever you go!

Good choice ....not that crazy about the wing, but a big polished aluminum fuel cell hang down out back and the hint of a pair of turn downs would look mean though!

you want your stang to stand out yet you want the rims everybody has and a hood everybody has. if you want it to stand out your going to have to make it REAL clean and paint it a different unique color. just my oppinion though

thank you, this is what i suggest. where i live every time i see another fox mustang its all dressed up(not always looking bad, but sometimes) and i love that i almost never see a clean unmolsted mustang like mine or yours around. its so original and time less. i would go with the wheels for the performance, silver, not chrome, and thats it, then you will truly have a stang that stands out!

I'll trade you four turbine wheels for two 17x8 and two 17x9, four lugged chrome Cobra R's. The turbines are in good condition, no peeling or curb rash.

True! Honestly, I think most exterior mods I have seen done to 5.0 Mustangs look tacky. When these cars came out, they were a simple looking, affordable sports car. Nobody did any exterior mods. Once in a while you would see a Saleen wing or something. And anybody that changed their rims put on those mesh wheels. Of course this was 10-15 years ago. Now it seems like everybody is putting stupid wings on and wheels that the body style was not made to accept. The same people that do this to their cars are the same people that post in all the "rice" threads about how stupid imports look. Show before go is rice, no matter what type of car it is! It's all the same thing! I will admit that some cars pull it off rather nicely, but most don't. The only body kits that I think look good on fox mustangs are the ones that came on the cars when they were new (93 Cobra, Saleen, etc.) To this day, I still think a Saleen Fox Mustang is the coolest looking car ever made.

If you want to make your car stand out, make it a fake Saleen and hunt down a set of those American Racing Saleen rims. But if you have a clean red lx hatch, I think you have a car that already stands out!

I've got some chrome ponies 4 sale....perfect condition. Kinda flashy but also suble and stock looking

I agree with the other guys, keep the stock hood or at least don't get a cowl hood until you've got atleast a low 13-high 12 sec car.

I am also a big fan of the stock look, I am even running turbine wheels.

Side note: I like the looks of a notchback w/ GT ground effects and NO wing. Wish I had a picture to post.

im with 5.0 Nostalgia on this one all the way. stock is cool. but a 93 cobra kit looks pretty good, you just need some extra power to back it up. and yeah on the saleen thing too, my god i would kill for one of those bad boys, all original. love the mesh wheels too, but my car couldnt pull that thing off, a gt maybe, but not my lx. i remeber every time i saw a saleen after i got my 92 i wished i'd gotten that, but they were so much money that i didnt even think about it then, mistake on my part i guess. a plus to stock looks is people will underestimate you, alot. back in the day GT's used to always race me, and as most of you know, GT's in the later years were'nt much different then lx 5.0 hatchs, and the lx was cheaper. so they are kinda sleeper cars too. but if you throw on a huge wing and large cowl hood, and wheels that dont look right on your car, then your just asking to be whooped my guys that put that money into the right place, under the hood.
