Ok guy, I'm looking to cut my 1/8 and 1/4 times down. My street tires are about as awesome as plastic tires on a big wheel tricycle. I want to fit them one of the sets of stockers. They are the 16 inch 5 stars that came stock. Now my questions are:
What size do I put on there. Give me your advice.
Where is the CHEAPEST place to buy them.
And what brand, if any is the best, should i look into.

Use some ET streets wich will enable you to run in classes that wont let you run a full blown slick... trust me they hook very well. Id go with a 26x11.50 wich really measures out to like 26x10.. just look around on prices. I ran 26x11.50s on my car and cut a 1.66 60ft. Just remember your stock axles can break easily. Ive broken my input shaft, output shaft, and axel tube housing trying to 60ft my car.. Finally got all TKO stuff and weldedup my axel tubes on my new rear end.. no more problems with those 6krpm launches :D

You want to launch on slicks at 2k??? Dude it will fall on its face.. the whole point to having slick is to be able to rev it up high and let the hammer drop... reducing your 60ft can make a world of difference on your overall time. Get your axle tubes welded up. Ive seen 2002 mustangs break the stock welds and do exactly what I did. If you want to run slicks you need to have the balls to bring it up high and let it rip... least 4,500 or so. You will see what im talking about when you try to let it go at 2,200 rpm.

Why do you want to use slicks and launch at 2200rpm? hehe.. My dads mustang run 10.90's on stock axles with 6k launches pulling 1.57 '60s. I've run low 8's a lotta times with my car and had no problems. I think you need to have a pretty quick car before you worry about them breaking.. Use some ET streets or slicks and launch the hell out of it

Ive broken them with low 12 sec cars with 1.60 60fts.. I watched a guy in a notch back that runs high 12s break em on ET streets.. Its not gonna happen every time but high 10s is really pushing it.. how heavy is his car and what are his 60fts? The bad thing about these SN95 cars is you have to move a lot of weight when you 60ft... mine is 3,605 with me in it. Is your dads high 10sec car a standard or auto?

Well, weight makes a big difference breaking parts. His car weighs 3200 with driver. So its not too heavy. Im sure that helps.. It only done it about twice and it broke. But it gradually got that fast.. run a 11's all the time and low 11's a bunch'a times. Then he upped the nitrous jets again and it made about 2 passes on the stock axles. I've only run 8. teens in the 1/8th in my 95 so i dont know. Its fine so far though

well then, maybe i should get drag radials :rlaugh: im just a kid, so this is my only car. if i break something, especially when im down in school, im so fu*ked. so, i guess everyone is down for the nitto 555 rs?

I plan on runnign those as my daily tires.. I talked to a few guys down here that are getting 8-10K miles out of them befor having to buy a new pair. I would go ahead and get some ET streets.. just leave the air pressure up a bit so you dont get complete traction... maybe 14psi and allow for a little wheel spin on your setup.. I was launching mine hard with a stage 3 spec clutch and im pushing 365rwhp wich is why i broke so much stuff. You just cant let it rip at 2200rpm.. it will be a nasty bog.

So they did break finally? Its kewl they lasted that long.. I was pissed cause I just got my car together back in 1998 I woke up early and got to the track I was the first one at the gate... first one through tech in.. and first on to break! lol.
