i have a completely stock 96 cobra. i was just at a NSCA race this past weekend and saw that there is really no regular competition in the EFI class. there were three cars total. one was a 97 N/A cobra. it ran in a 12.50 index. i didn't get a chance to talk to the driver about his car and was curious as to what he did to it to run 12.5s. i looked at the car in the staging lanes and saw that it had an aftermarket balancer, a roll cage, stock ignition system(down to the plug wires), full leather interior, slicks, bogarts, full exhaust, and manual steering. what do i need to run consistent 12.5s without a power adder and retain some streetability? the same guy, todd merkel, wins EFI every year. one of the reasons is no one else shows up to all the races. i go to all the races anyway with my buddy who races so i might as well race my car and try to make some money. thanks.

long tubes
o/r pipe
4.30 or lower (numerically higher) gears
catback
pulleys
UPR powerpipe, WMS velocity tube, or densecharger CAI
slicks, DR's or ET streets
custom tune
weight reduction

I'm probably forgetting a few things like suspesion because the stock stuff isn't the best, I know my control arms and adjustable shocks/struts really help...

I'm getting close and I hope to be in the 12.60's or lower with my 4.30's I have to put in and a new tune soon...
