signed up to mm&ff just an hour ago (yeah their forums suck and isnt as great like SN due to lack of good admin/mods) but did some forum surfing and came across this..

Want To See Your Stang In Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine? - Ford & Mustang Forums at Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Magazine

A MM&FF Representative (Pete Epple) is searching for guys to shine some light on their stangs anyone here willing to inquire for their fox? I know more then a handfull of people here has some killer foxes and I (actually WE) NEED to see more! Just thought some SN family should inquire for their rides because its a fact that StangNet has users with magazine potential foxes that should take this oppertunity or heck if anyone here has any other stang/ford thats mag potential should send pete an email too i think this is a great oppertunity theres only a few that even replied to the thread and SNF folks with hard work & tons of hours invested into their car should shine on the front page or atleast in one of the articles :nice:

tell me what you guys think..

if this has been brought up or if hot linking another forums is a problem here please lock THANKS!

only problem i see there is that they arent full features, just readers rides and that last page deal they do.

Its evolution that foxes are getting phased out of the magazines, magazines have to do with what sells copies. the majority of people would rather see a new edge mustang with big wheels and a stereo in it. While every once in a while i read a good article that gets me amped up or excited, i used to be like that with every article when i was 17 and thumbing through the magazine, but its just not exciting reading about another s197 with a blower bolted on and making 450rwhp.

On the other side of the coin, foxes in magazines are old hack, think about it, just about every different combination of fox body has been covered in that magazine.

i am mr. print, i sell press's i love print, but even I stopped buying MM&FF just got sick of it maybe in the future ill sign up again, im probably like most of the alomost 30 somethings on here you burn out on mustang mags, then you heat up , then burn out....

right now im in the out stage.

the last article i read that i really enjoyed was where they put the F-1r on a stone stock mustang, No magazine has ever done that before, and it actually worked, almost ran 10's. Its that kind of outside of the box thinking that all of the mustang magazines are missing.

I just renewed my 5.0 and MM&FF for a year, and the only reason i did it was cause i got them both for 20 bucks and wouldnt u know. they sent me 1 or 2 issues and nothing since.

But my HOT ROD and CAR CRAFT subscriptions are going nowhere. I'd pay extra for those two.

I stopped subscribing to MM&FF and 5.0 mag just because Fox features are few and far between.

Hard to say if a Fox-only mag on a monthy basis can succeed because everything that has been done to a 5.0 has already been covered.

It's kinda the same reason why I stopped attending Mustang shows. When you are around Mustangs as much as I am, nothing is ever new really.

....but its just not exciting reading about another s197 with a blower bolted on and making 450rwhp.

that's the truth..... I let my subs run out on both just for that. I get tired of seeing how the 05 and ups get blowers on them and they become full feature cars. The Mustang is floating over to the import stlye of mods now IMO. People scoop up a new stang, send it to a shop to have it totally rebuilt, get it back and drive it, then act proud as if they had ***** to do with it. There's far less wrenching going on now. :nonono: I'm sure most of you will agree that there is nothing quite like ripping your mustang apart, building it yourself in the garage, and then driving the hell out of it. When someone asks about it, you know where everything came from, what it does, and more importantly,.... how much work it took to get it like that!

Yep. I bought MM&FF and 5.0 faithfully during the 90's. Back then the latest issue couldn't come soon enough. Now when I see one on the rack I'll quickly browse through it but rarely do I find them worth buying.

didnt know mm&ff was that bad what caught my attention in the previous issue was the tropical storm for its simplicity and good story its true about the blown s197's i didnt have much interest for those articles but i guess its always better to just wait til the article hits the website just bought the latest 5.0 mag (was in a hurry to work just grabbed it to test it out) its alright what caught my attention was the blue angels and the bagged fox still need to read more of it havent had to full chance to..

What is your screen name supposed to mean?

simple just J thats what i go by:D couldnt think of any other usernames lol would have used a username like "whitelx" or "whitefox90" but looking forward to another colored fox since i know my hatch wont be my favorite from what i will have through the years of being a fox owner

I do like in 5.0 that most of the staff has an ongoing fox project that they keep up to date every month. Its worth my $1.50 every month for my cheap subscription to stay up on those and support the hobby.

Yeah. I stopped reading MM&FF and 5.0 because I just really don't care about shop built s197's. Every once in a while I'll pick up one in Barnes & Noble and flip through jus to see if there is anything that catches my attention. There usually isn't.

As far as replacements? Top Gear (the UK version of course), Road & Track, and an interesting little mag called 0-60. If you haven't heard of it you should check it out. It's a bi-monthly but a very interesting read.

For example the last issue covered everything from the Porsche Panamera Turbo to a shoot out b/t a 93 SHO and the 2010 SHO.

What have yall supplemented in your readings since you done read the 'stang mags any longer?

hot rod and car craft. Hot Rod has a bunch of different stuff thats cool and i just love the tone of Car Craft. you can tell they are writing not as magazine guys, but as car guys, and there isnt 200 pages of advertisements in each issue
