I want your opinions stangnet ........

I have a 98 GT. A while back, I had an incident where I had to run off the road to avoid rear-ending a woman. Long story short, my front GT bumper is (and has been) cracked, also the front black piece (air dam?) is ripped off and it's time for a new bumper.

I was thinking about buying a Cobra bumper but I would like for you all to give me your take on putting a Cobra bumper on a 98 GT. If you think it's a bad idea and looks stupid, please give me some suggestions as to what bumper would look good? I don't like the GT bumper anyway, so I'm using that as self-justification to buy a new one.

Does anyone on this board have a Cobra bumper on a GT (my body style)? If so, would you please post some pics?

One more thing, where is a good place to buy front bumpers? Most inexpensive I guess is what I'm getting at.

which year Cobra? I think the 95 Cobra bumpers look sweet on 94-98s.

Here's Ryan's 96gt with the cobra front bumper. I think it looks awesome. Can't get a real good look at it from these shots. Hopefully he'll see this and chime in for you. He had some amazing pictures of it before but he took them off. Hope it helps a little.

I don't really know what year I want. I know between 95 and 98. What is the difference? I know that the 95 Cobra has an awesome spoiler IMO!

Yeah that does look sick! What is that piece at the bottom of his bumper? Is it just the 'air dam' thing or is it part of the bumper? I do like that. So he has a 96 GT with a (what year??) Cobra bumper? I guess I'll see if he chimes in ..

It's just a 96-98 Cobra Bumper. That's just the bumper itself, no airdam. I really like it too.

It's a great idea, I don't care....

But you gotta get a different hood so the cobra bumper really shines

There is none, 94-98 cobra bumpers are the same, the 94-95 cobras came with the standard hood where the 96-98's got the aggressive hood

My buddy swapped his GT front bumper for a cobra front for the same reason. It looks good, so if cost is similar then just get the one you like.

There is no shame in putting the Cobra Bumper in your GT...its when you add the Cobra Emblem that you'll get razzed.
I would like to put one on my car...that bumper looks perfect on our cars.

I think the cobra bumper is the best looking one for that body style! If it were me I would put the hood and the front bumper on there. 94-98 cobras look awesome, go for it!!!

Go with the cobra bumper!! you'll be happy you did. I wanted to when I got my car re-done but I couldn't find one anywhere near. So I just went with the hood, maybe down the road I'll get one...

Anyways if you need a new bumper, the cobra bumper looks good on GT's so get one. Yeah , Do it... Do it...

Here's a OLD pic of my car but it's the only one on this hard drive ...

It's hard to see really (****ty pic) but the front bumper is FUBAR underneath. Keep pics coming if anyone else has em.

Also, where I photoshopped the blue arrow, is that part of the bumper? If so, I like that a lot!!!

yes it is part of the bumper not a snap on piece so it durable it sometimes scrapes when I leave parking lots with a dip but you cant see under there.
