I would go with the stainless steel bumper inserts if you have chrome in other areas on your car, or I would go with a dark gray or a light gray. I installed light gray on my '01 Cobra.

bumper inserts

SR 97 GT said:
I like the inserts especially on the lighter colored cars. I have reflective black inserts on my black GT. I've seen metallic silver and chrome inserts on black Mustangs and they look good. I'm not sure how white inserts would look. Probably not my style.

I agree that on the lighter colored stangs the vinyl inserts look sharp!
As you have a unique reflective black inserts that only turn silver if
light is on them I think that it's cool and it looks great! As
Deflashed stated the vinyl sticker like inserts are sometimes hard or
a pain to get to stick like the m and the s letters so,I finialy decided
tomarrow I will order the Stainless Steel bumper insert letters from
www.mwspeedshop.com they are like 80.00 plus 5.00 for shipping.
Thanks for everyones opnions and SR97GT,SLAPYO,and KENNY's pics
that was much appreciated! As SVT RACER said I will be also
getting Stainless Bumper inserts. Thanks to SVT RACER for subjusting
the SS inserts because your opnion affected my finial choice.
I would like to see a pic of your Cobra with the SS inserts I think it
would look awesome together .Post pics as you please!

Stainless Steel Inserts

I went with Stainless Steel insert letters on my Dark Shadow Gray. I bet they will look equally nice on a Black Mustang too.

Look at my avatar.....I've had these on both of my Mustangs and love them. They won't peal or fade like stickers.

Here is the full shot of them

Anyone tried the Ford accessory bumper lettering (available in the accessory catalog)? Stickers I think...but might be good quality.

I'm not putting them on my car (would be too much I think with my rocker panel striping), but if I didn't have the rocker panel stripes, I might consider them (for some reason, the Ford orange color sounds pretty good on a True Blue Mustang...)

Yeah, bumper inserts rule. I have gold inserts on my forest green vert, looks nice with the tan top. On a black car, id go for the silver/chrome. Mustangworld has a nice selection and they don't cost much.

I have black inserts on my 04 DSG GT.

I love the way they look.

Had them on my 1990 Smoke colored LX too.

me neither -
Maybe it's a southern thing not to care for them It seems to add a little too much bling for me. Everyone knows it's a Mustang.

Personally I want to get an 03 Cobra bumper, and fill in the Cobra letters, and have no lettering.

I was reading through theis thread thinking the same thing.....ricy.
Light colored cars teh black looks "OK" (just OK)
Stainless and chrome......way too ricy.

Just my opinion, nobody has to agree with me. It won't hurt my feelings.

I think the chrome inserts would look great on a black pony! I have white ones on mine and they lasted for 4-1/2 years without any peeling or anything, until I got rearended and had to have the bumper replaced. I put them back on. Installing my stick ons were not difficult. I just kept everything real wet until I was satisfied with their placement.

But on black, go with the chrome inserts!

I agree that the flashy colors look good on a black stang like
silver,gold,stainless steel,and chrome.Your correct GDawg the chrome
inserts would look awesome on my black stallion but,I just ordered the
Stainless Steel Inserts from mwspeedshop.com so,I think I will be happy
with my choice! Also thanks to GDawg,DELOS,Walta,SVT RACER for the
great pics I appreciate it! Also,John stated that Ford has accessory
bumper lettering in there catolog but, they are probaly high quality stickers/
vinyl.Because I need inserts that will not crack, fade,or peal but, thanks John
for that idea I didn't even know ford afford inserts GDawg I also
think your red vert looks awesome with the white inserts! If it wasn't
for ChingoChee for subjesting MustangWorld and SVT RACER I would probaly
would have not made my mind up on witch inserts to get so,thanks again!
The plus about SS inserts is that they will not crack, fade,or peal because
they are simply not a sticker that is something you, should think about before
purchasing any inserts!

Just a note here... The inserts I have are not stickers so to speak. They are a 3M type of embossed decal product that once dried is more like paint. They were very good quality.

I got my second set from Graphic Express.

That's good GDawg
the bumper inserts from Graphic Express and Bob White are high quality
and last a long time because as you say they are a 3M type embossed
decal so,they do stick like paint I know but,I just like the way the
Stainless Steel Inserts look on a Black stang! because as alot of
us know Black Stangs own The SS inserts from mwspeedshop.com
are also 3M type embossed just like the ones you have but, they are SS.
I think your red stang look's great with the white inserts
Also I noticed you are from Vegas I to am from Las Vegas and it would
be cool to meet fellow stangers in my area.I think we should meet up
some time but, that's your call Also 03gtmustang your black stang look's
super I think with thoses inserts! Anyone got more pic's to post?

All I can say is... 16 GA. Stainless Steel.

If you like the look of chrome, why not get something that won't peel or rust?
