IAC Block-Off

They sould just take out the tech forum, and replace it with a search button. Everything has already been discussed aleast 10 times.......damn search police :nonono:
I use the search button alot also, but we are here to help eachother not slam them every chance you get......

The mod is a restiction plate, the hole in the center is smaller which help drop the rpm's down faster than normal.
There is a guy on e-bay that sells them pretty cheap, I think under 10.00..

Hope this helps

I really, really, want to be able to change my dashpot somehow. I have the copper cap and I absolutely can no longer live without it, but the drawbacks are annoying.

Does anybody know how I can change the dashpot?

its in the eec. This is a parameter they should make available in the tuners but i don't think they do.

Anyone that is considering this block off mod, needs to realize a few things. One this will not fix idle "problems", but will likely make any current problem worse or at the very least difficult to trouble shoot. Second, this mod is a "band-aid" solution that restricts the functionality of a critical component. I suggest that if you guys really want to be able to adjust the way your car idles down, that you express your interest in having this parameter added to the handheld tuners.

I have the copper pipe cap mod and also can't stand it. When the A/C is off the rpm's drop too slow, when it is on they drop too fast. The same is true when it is below freezing and the engine is cold.

I am very interested in changing the dashpot settings, but I don't have enough mods to justify a programmer. Any way to take the car somewhere that can change the dashpot? Is the anyone with a program that has everything stock and just the dashpot settings changed that would rent me their programmer, I live in the Chicago area. Thanks for any help or suggestions.
