IAC help

How does the Idle Air Control work? Is it supposed to be open at idle?? I noticed that when my idle sticks I can unplug the electrical connection to my IAC and the idle returns to normal

It should choke out and try to die when you unplug it. If it isn't check to make sure you throttle blade is closing all the way and that you don't have any leaks.

Ok I will try that, the crazy thing is when my car is at idle I can pull the hose off of the Iac and stick my finger on the Iac and feel no vacume, is this right?

No, that is not "right". You should feel some serious vaccum and the car should start running like crap when you pull the hose.
