IAC question/problem

I have a 96 GT and sometimes when i go to start the car it takes more turns that usual to start it but my problem is when i unplug the IAC it kills the car. I have even had somebody to hold on the gas a little and it still kills the car. I was under the impression that you can unplug it and it should start and the rpms should come down faster but it will not run with it unplugged? Any suggestions on why it kills the car and wont start also? Thanks :bang:

I just bought a new IAC from NAPA for $54.00 and installed it because my car runs really rough at idle (feels like it will stall @stop lights). After the install, it is still doing the same darn thing. Also, i was under the impression that even if you have a aftermarket throttle body, you should not be able to adjust the idle with the idle screw, the computer does it for you.
If i try to move the screw to create a higher RPM on my BBK TB, it doesn't rev higher or lower @ idle.....it stays the same.
