ICE polish is the ****NIT

I polished my car the other day, it looks awesome. I had some BAD oxidation on my car, mainly the spoiler and under the driver side mirror. It dosent eliminate it but it turnes the white back to green, it look 10 times better. And it dosent take long to apply. Heres a quick pic I took with my phone. Then there a pic where you can see hjow good it hides oxidation. Its on my spoiler.

Looks good!

Remember, you're not finished. A nice coat of wax will top it all off. Meguire's NXT paste wax is awesome!

Um NXT is not a wax it's a synthetic polish aka paint sealant. It's kinda hard to see the pics we need some better ones when you have a chance.

Have you finally used it??if you did what did you think ?durabilty so far, beading power??

It lasts pretty long, and I didnt even get to wax it. Im gonna re-do it sometime this week and wax it too. And water beads pretty good, but once I wax it it should be even better.

If I'm not mistaken is this not a sealant? You don't have to top it with a carnuba wax (you can if you like), sealant are made to be a stand alone product superior to a carnuba wax. Read the lable and confim if this is a synthetic polymer (aka sealant) or just a polish.

It dosent say anything about sealant ot polymers, but it is synthetic. BUT it it says on the back that it is superior to normal waxes, saying this like it IS a wax, just a different type.

Danny ..... the NXT I have is wax I believe. At least that's what it says on the can.

I don't know why manufatures choose to name produts in such a confusing manner . Clearkote is another one who names there products in the same manner

Next weekend I'm gonna clay bar the car and start over from scratch, using the #16 instead of the S100 (which is also a kick ass wax) and see how well it works like that.

Okay ... thanks for clarifying that Danny! I noticed it said wax on the front .... and also in the directions on the back ... so I naturally thought it was a "wax".

So tell me this ..... did I screw up? Or could I have done better? Sorry to hijack ... but I need to ask.

I washed my car twice. Then I used the Meguire's 3 step process ..... except I substituted "Step 3" with the NXT synthetic polymer. The car is blingin' .... but could I have done better by using a carnuba wax in the process?

The "polish" in the Meg's 3 step seems to me to be the same, or very much like the Meg's #7 show car glaze. Most, not all, synthetic sealants will have trouble bonding to glazes, so you may have trouble there.

Cool man during the summer a hard working carnuba is a good choice to go 3 months inbetween applications. That's what I love about #16 put it on thin and watch those summer storms just roll off the paint . And yes S100 is great for the money if I didn't have 5 tins of #16 and pick some up.

No NXT in imo is better then most of megs carnuba minus Megs #26 high tech yellow wax; #26 is a good carnuba. Also NXT "should" out last carnuba wax's being it's a synthetic which are superior to carnuba waxes. But like Eric mentioned sythetics don't get along to well with glazes (bonding issues), carnubas don't have this problem. On the flip side carnubas tend to give a better "wet look" compared to synthetics just that they don't last as long. You just have to figure out which one you want and or what look, you can take the wet look of a good carnuba and do it again in 3 months. Or you can chose a quality synthetic that can give you 4-5 months in between applications and have more of a wrapped in plastic look.
