Yea, there are ways to get close, if not right on. But not always. One way is to pull it and see if there are indentifying markings. Or measuring the lobe lift with a dial caliper. Most presise would be to leave it in place and using dial indicators and a degree wheel, measure both lobe lift and the duration.
