I know what color coincides with each typically sized injector. However, I am faced with an unusual situation. I recently bought another Fox body coupe. The injectors have a light blue band which immediately lead me to believe that they were 24's. Any possibility that they are 42's? Does any manufacturer make a 42 with a light blue band?

While i'm here I may as well explain. A year ago I sold my SC'd LX. I've been racing my Lightning since. I really started missing my Fox body and came to the conclusion that old coupes are my favorite race cars. I found a fairly built coupe on ebay and negioted a price with the buyer. He actually traillered it from Texas to me in Southern CA. When the car showed up there were a few things that were not quite like the auction stated. When I paid [through paypal] I put specific language that stated i was buying the exact car from EBAY auction # xxxxx. As it turned out there was some stuff that I noticed wasn't as described and I filed a PayPal dispute. I feel a little bad about it but I might not have bought the car otherwise. I told the seller that he had to refund me $400-500. Even if the injectors turn out to magically be 42lbers with a light blue stripe there is still a lot of stuff that's not as stated. I don't think that the guy lied, rather, I think that he was restatng what the guy who sold him the car 3 years ago told him. Anyway, am I jerk for wanting exactly what i paid for? Sorry for the long post....glad to be back.

The color scheme should be the same no matter what brand injector you bought.

That's not entirely true. Ford injectors use the colors for sure, but Accel injectors are either yellow or black. Venom uses black, blue, brown, orange, pink, red, and yellow for their injectors from what I've seen, and their colors don't correspond to the same rating for injectors as Ford/Bosch injectors. I can't think of any other manufacturers off hand, but I'll keep an eye out.

I have been seeing other companies messing the color scheme up lately.

When you pull them out look for a part number or something on them.

Lucas injectors have a light blue ring around the top also. I got some, the guy said they're 38lbers, but one of the 7 has a red ring while all the rest are blue, theyre all in the same condition. I searched for hours and no one has a 100% sure answers on the colors and numbers, I saw they're 36's, 38's, and 42's. I want to find out so I know if i can put them on without having one cylinder leaner or richer than the others

Yeah not all injector colors are the same from brand to brand...

Get a brand and part number as said...
