Well Final 5.0 helped set up my idle, and so far so good. With the cobra tune I start up the car and it goes into the 1500 rpm range and goes down to about dying range and then it goes up to 1500 rpm range and sits there for about whatever time it needs then it goes down to around 950 were I want it to idle. How do I make it stay at the 1500 rpm range when I start it up with out going down to were it almost dies???

You are sure you got nothing mechanical going on like v leaks, exhaust leaks,
and isc is working correctly

If you are seeing 950 to 1500 rpm variations ... that don't sound like I've done
a very good job of helping so far to me

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I ment on cold starts, and how it suppose to hang high for a little bit and then slowly go down to normal. Well when I start mine it goes up drops immediatly to were it almost dies then it goes up and hangs then slowly comes down.

Let me confirm some things and ask a few Q's

You have good normal temp idle

The prob you speak of here is for cold starts

You moved over to the j4j1 tune

What size inj's are you using

Have you loaded in your maf curve in the j4j1

Believe me ... I've dealt with what you speak of
and
Know what it sounds like

You're most likely too fat

What does your wb show during all that surging?

What is your low/high slope values?

Did you load in offsets for 30's?

Woah So your saying I need to loose some weight My damn wide band counts down from 20 seconds before it reads so at start-up it doesn't read. Ill rigg to were I ran a wire straight to the batery. Let me do that and I'll see. High slope is at 29.XXX and low slope like 35.xxx

Be sure to load in your offsets cause after sitting over night, the alt is gonna be
crankin out the juice to freshen up the batt

You must do these basic kinds of things before ...........
we start hosin around with fuel for start up

OR

You can get into that two or three steps backward for each step forward in
your quest to solve this issue

We don't wanna talk about how I know that

Man ... If you have ever looked at anything I've said about this self tuning stuff
You've bound to seen me talk about the offsets and their importance
but
Never the less ... in a nut shell ..............

Look in CalEdit under functions

Injector Offset vs Battery Voltage

As your battery voltage rises and falls, this function helps keep the injector pulse width stay in step with the changes

You now have inj's that are 60% larger but the pcm still thinks you have 19's

Look for the offsets for your 30's at EECTuning.org in the faq section.

Oh ok. But Since I have the J4J1 wouldn't they be 24% Bigger?

Right on Mr. G

You are absolutely correct

Yes, since you went to that file, you have offsets for 24's

Closer ... but ... Not close enough ... Load in the O's for 30's

If that is what the value is for 30's at that voltage ... that would be correct.

Now that subject ......... Tons and tons of stuff has been written about that
by many, many peeps I consider to be smart folk

I still don't have a complete grasp on all that to my satisfaction

BTW ... where did you come up with that multiply by .8 thing

24lb/30lb=.8

It should be the same as the 25 percent, but in a easier way. Well at least for me
