i was having some really awful idle problems (die as soon as i come to a stop) and low rpm cruising speed issues. anyway after i clean the maf and a new tps and cleaned the iac it wouldnt die anymore, but the idle quality still sucked and it would have a slight bucking at low rpms. set the timing back to stock setting and made things worse, timed it by ear got a little better. put in a new harmonic balancer and timed it 12*, wow its like driving a brand new car. revs so smooth and no pinging.

When you installed the new HB, where was the timing actually set (before you set it correctly to 12*)?

Just curious.

Glad to hear it's running well.

it was at 8*. once i bumped it up to 12* thats what sovled the idle issue. i never tried it at the factory setting or any higher. right now there is no pinging at all and i like it that way.
