Idle problem

Hey, I have a 98 cobra with the 4.6 DOHC. Recently a problem started becoming worse. When I'm driving, but come to a stop, whether it's permanent stop or slowing down by down shifting...My rpm's stay at higher idle when I put the clutch in sometimes. It could be 3000 rpm or 2000, but it's been starting to happen more lately. Would everyone know how to trouble shoot that. thanks.

Probally the IAC. Clean it n if e don work buy a new one, just dont get autoparts store one, go OEM.

Yeah, I was reading previous posts to find the issue. I have a new OEM IAC, which was installed a month ago. Problem just started getting a little worse, it was terrible last night. I could pull out in 2nd or 3rd gear b/c the idles stayed up so high. Maybe its my TPS or MAF, not sure.

So no error codes? Do you have a chip? Have you tried resetting the computer?
