its a 95 GT with 103,000 miles, it has a systemax upper/lower intake, a bbk 70mm throttle body, a edelbrock intake elbow, bbk fuel pressure regulator, and 24lb injectors.

Alright the problem is that it idles at 2000-2500 rpms, clutch in or out.. dont know what else to put down thats basically it. If someone could let me know of a few things that might help, or completely stop it that would be great. If you need more info on the car let know what, and i will answer best i can.

thanks

Jeremy

Welcome Jeremy!

Does it always do this or just at certain times? Any recent work done to it? Info like this will help. I've got a thought or two in mind for given situations, but would like to hear more history before I spam ya with my couple thoughts.

Good luck.

it always does it, from the second you turn the car on to when you turn it off. The modifications mentioned above were done before the problem. I just bought the car yesterday and all this info is coming from the previous owner, so whether or not it is accurate......well thats anyones guess. It also has a slightly blown head gasket.

Just today i found that the pcv valve is not connected to anything, i dont know if this could cause the problem but it seems strange to me.

Oh and the MAF may not be calibrated for the 24lb injectors.

Thanks

jeremy

What happened when you reattached the PCV hose? That would cause a large vac leak, which could have raised the idle up quite a bit.

If you need new stuff, I'd get a Motorcraft PCV valve, grommet and screen. They fit nice and tight (some aftermarket stuff doesnt fit very tight and pops out).

As an aside, if he has an aftermarket MAF (like Pro M/PMAS), it should have a scribe on the electronics letting you know what it's cal'd for. If you have a C&L, you can note which sampling tube you have.

Good luck.

I agree on the PCV valve. When I first ran my car after the 408 swap, one of the hoses under the intake that goes to the pcv kept slipping off which would cause the idle to hang for a long time at a high RPM.
