Idle RPM - what is good for an auto?

I have a predator tuner. I want to adjust my idle settings higher. How high can idle settings be set safely on an automatic? The higher my car idles, the smoother it is, so I wanted to set it up as high as I can.

I'd like an RPM number for idle, and for while it is in D.

I wouldn't go higher than 1000 RPM. Currently I have my idle at 800 and it is smooth, but still has a little lope from the cams. Prior to that I had it at 1000 and it felt very smooth. Seems like anything over 1000 is too much.
