Idle speed and In-gear idle help...

hey my idle doesnt seem too high..When in park its at like 900, then in gear its about 600-700...
Something that has been bothering me tho, When i come to a stop sign, it seems like i really have to be on the brake ..she really wants to start moving...but yet its at like 600-700 rpm...but it seems like it really wants to go? and if i let off the brake and do not touch the gas..it will actually pick up speed to like 10 mph....why doesnt it just coast like under 5 mph like normal cars do? id like to get it to stop wanting to take off so bad...anyone know whats up?

about the only thing that comes to mind (i dont know much about slushboxes) is that your brake booster might be on the way out; it is acting more like manual brakes and requires more effort to keep it from rolling. that does not explain the mph differences you notice though.
