Idle surge, happens at idle and while driving

Ok I havent driven my car since last fall but i jus remembered i was having a problem with it wanting to surge it happens msot when rolling up to stop sign, but it also happenes while driving down the road, the car will jsut start speeding up, not alot it goes to like 2500-3000 rpms, sometimes turning the car off and then on again will correct it, but not all the time


what could cause this problem?

The first two posts contain all the updates to the fixes. At last count there were 24 possible causes and fixes for surging idle/stall problems. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions.
